The opportunity
Most amateur matches disappear the moment they end. We want to change that.
We are building the video and intelligence platform for amateur sports: a product that enables clubs to record and stream matches using an ordinary smartphone or camera, then transforms that footage into live broadcasts, on-demand video, automated highlights, player statistics and coaching insights.
Think of it as a “DAZN for amateur sports”—built specifically for federations, clubs, players and families.
This stealth-mode venture is led by an experienced technology founder who previously built a company from zero to more than US$100 million in annual revenue and raised over US$150 million in capital.
This is not simply an idea on a slide. We are already in active discussions with sports-federation decision-makers in Catalonia, with a concrete route toward an initial pilot involving more than 100 clubs and thousands of licensed players.
The ambition is not to create a small tool for one federation. It is to build the European category leader in amateur sports video and, ultimately, a global platform.
We are now looking for the technical cofounder who can help build it.
The challenge
Amateur sport presents a uniquely difficult video environment:
- Clubs operate with limited budgets and little technical support.
- Venues often have unreliable connectivity.
- Recording must be simple enough for a volunteer to manage.
- Live and recorded video must remain affordable at scale.
- The product must work across different venues, devices and sports.
- Every hour of video should eventually become structured, searchable and useful.
The central technical question is simple:
Can we enable an ordinary club volunteer to place a phone on a tripod, press one button and reliably produce a live and recorded match—at a sustainable cost?
Solving that problem creates the foundation for everything that follows.
What you’ll own
You will lead the technical side of the company from the first working prototype to a scalable international platform.
You will:
- Define the end-to-end technical architecture.
- Build a simple and reliable capture workflow using smartphones and, later, fixed cameras.
- Develop live-streaming and recording that can tolerate imperfect venue connectivity.
- Build the video ingestion, encoding, transcoding, storage, playback and delivery infrastructure.
- Create the initial web and mobile viewing experience.
- Design recovery mechanisms for interrupted streams and uploads.
- Measure and optimize infrastructure costs per match and viewing hour.
- Establish the technical foundation for user accounts, subscriptions, access control and federation-specific environments.
- Introduce automated clipping, highlights and computer vision as the video library grows.
- Recruit and lead the future engineering organization.
At this stage, you must be comfortable writing production code and building the first version yourself. This is a hands-on founding role—not a position focused on managing agencies or a large engineering team.
What we’re looking for
You are a strong, product-minded engineer with meaningful experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Live-video and streaming infrastructure
- Video encoding, transcoding, HLS and playback
- Mobile video capture
- Cloud video processing, storage and delivery
- Consumer video or media platforms
- Computer vision applied to sports or human movement
- Resilient systems operating under unreliable network conditions
You may have worked at a streaming platform, sports-technology company, broadcaster, camera company or video-infrastructure startup.
Experience with businesses or products such as DAZN, Rakuten TV, Mediapro, Pixellot, Veo, Hudl or Spiideo would be highly relevant, but what you have personally built matters more than the names on your CV.

The first 90 days
Together, we would aim to:
- Build and validate the complete capture-to-playback workflow.
- Stream and record real matches using ordinary consumer equipment.
- Test the system under unstable venue connectivity.
- Deliver reliable live and on-demand viewing.
- Establish the true infrastructure cost per match and viewer.
- Produce an initial automated highlight or structured video event.
- Prepare the product and operational workflow for a federation pilot.
