Most AI engineering jobs are looking for someone who knows the latest framework. This isn't one of them.
I'm working with an early-stage Australian AI startup that's built a genuine product used by enterprise customers. They're looking for an exceptional engineer with AI experience, not someone whose only skill is prompting an LLM.
If you enjoy solving complex problems, designing systems, owning architecture and taking products from idea through to production, this could be one of the more interesting opportunities in the market.
You'll spend your time:
- Building an internal AI platform that powers production AI workflows.
- Solving complex product and engineering problems from first principles.
- Working across architecture, backend, frontend and integrations.
- Using AI to accelerate delivery while applying engineering judgement to every decision.
- Working directly with the founders in a small, senior engineering team.
Tech:
Production experience with AI technologies such as RAG, AI Agents, LangChain, LangGraph, MCP, OpenAI or Anthropic will be highly regarded. The core stack also includes TypeScript, React, Node.js, Python, Django and AWS.
