Change Accountancy and Finance are partnering with one of the UK’s leading and fast growing consultancy businesses as they look to appoint a Group Financial Controller to their team. This role is on a part time basis, 3 days per week, with one of these being in their central Edinburgh office.
A unique role, with a disruptor in the market, that will play a key part across all areas of the business as they continue to grow and execute on an exciting strategy, taking a role as part of the management structure and adding value through the commercial performance of the business.
The role will be across all areas of finance, taking responsibility for budgeting and forecasting in addition to month end close and reporting and daily activities within the team. Developing links and relationships with the business to understand its rhythm and drivers is key to aid in board level decision making and conversations, as well as taking a lead on enhancing management information and wider controls and processes.
The role is ideally suited to an individual who can balance being hands on and managing a small team, whilst taking a commercial and controls focus to the organisation. Previous experience in a fast moving organisation would be of benefit to aid in process improvement, and showing adaptability as demands vary. Wider key duties of the role will cover;
- Taking a lead role in the Financial Management of the business on a day to day and monthly basis
- Developing and reviewing a robust financial plan with budget setting as well as forecast projections
- Review and enhancement of financial models for investor and board review
- Month end close and balance sheet review to create meaningful management information for board and investor presentation
- Cash flow analysis and review of debtors and creditors
- Assisting in costing and contract review, developing MI to add insight
- Completing statutory returns and reporting
- Responsible for ad hoc accounting and transactional postings as required
- Managing a small team of 2 in daily and monthly tasks
Applicants for the role will be able to show a strong financial background with the ability to balance being hands on, with the skills to present to investors and board members clearly. Offering insight and analysis, a basis of management accounting and budget setting will be key, with the ability to flex to the demands of a fast paced growing organisation.

Salary: £55,000 – annual salary
