Data Scientist - AI/ML & GxP
Contract: 12 months
Rate: €40 per hour
Work Model: Predominantly remote, with some initial onsite attendance required
We are looking for a Data Scientist with strong AI/ML experience to join a global team within a highly regulated life sciences environment.
This is a hands-on technical role focused on applying advanced analytics, machine learning and Generative AI to quality and operational data. You will work with data, software engineering and business teams to develop scalable digital solutions and turn complex requirements into production-ready applications.
Responsibilities

Develop and deploy predictive, prescriptive and applied analytics solutions.

Build production-level solutions using Python and SQL.

Develop, evaluate and maintain AI/ML and Generative AI solutions.

Work with technologies such as LLMs, RAG, agentic workflows and prompt engineering.

Perform exploratory data analysis across structured and unstructured datasets.

Work with data engineers on data quality, cleansing and analytics.

Collaborate with software engineers to move models and algorithms into production.

Carry out model validation, testing, monitoring and performance optimisation.

Support technical troubleshooting and production issues.

Ensure AI/ML and digital solutions comply with GxP and regulatory standards.

Produce clear technical documentation and communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Work as part of a global Agile delivery team.
Requirements

Strong commercial experience in Data Science, Machine Learning or AI Engineering.

High proficiency in Python and SQL.

Experience developing and deploying machine learning models.

Hands-on experience with Generative AI, ideally including LLMs, RAG or agentic AI.

Experience with cloud or data platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP, Databricks or Spark.

Good understanding of software engineering practices including Git/version control.

Experience working with production data and scalable technical solutions.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work across global teams.
Highly Desirable

Experience within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare or life sciences.

Knowledge of GxP, GMP or other regulated environments.

Experience with Quality Control, laboratory data or quality-related analytics.

MLOps experience including model versioning, deployment, testing and monitoring.

Experience with Power BI, Tableau, Spotfire or Power Automate.

Experience translating complex business requirements into technical solutions.
Qualification Guidelines
Candidates should typically have one of the following:

Doctorate in Software Engineering, Data Science, ML Engineering or a related discipline, or

Master's degree with approximately 2-3+ years relevant experience, or
-
Bachelor's degree with approximately 4-5+ years relevant experience, or
-
Diploma with significant relevant industry experience.
