Senior PAYMENTS Project Manager - 100% Remote/ Contract – R800 per hour

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager with strong Payments, Product and Technology experience to lead complex projects within a modern technology environment.
This opportunity is suited to a senior delivery professional who understands the payments ecosystem, can manage complex technical projects and integrations, and is comfortable working across Product, Engineering, Architecture and Business.
What you’ll need:
- 10+ years’ Project Management experience
- Strong Payments experience – essential
- Experience in Product Management / Product Delivery
- Proven experience managing complex technical and software projects
- Strong technical understanding
- Integration experience – essential
- Experience working across APIs, systems and technology platforms
- Strong understanding of the SDLC
- Experience working with Agile delivery methodologies
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams, dependencies, risks and priorities
- Commercial AI / ML experience
What you’ll be responsible for:
- Lead end-to-end delivery of complex payments technology projects
- Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, dependencies and delivery milestones
- Work closely with Product, Engineering, Architecture, QA and business stakeholders
- Drive requirements from business needs through to technical delivery
- Manage complex payments integrations and technology dependencies
- Coordinate internal technical teams and external stakeholders
- Identify delivery risks and drive issues through to resolution
- Facilitate project workshops, planning sessions and stakeholder meetings
- Ensure projects progress successfully through development, testing and implementation
- Support the delivery of innovative AI/ML-enabled technology solutions
- Provide clear project reporting and maintain strong governance throughout delivery
The profile:
This is not a generic Project Manager position.
We’re looking for someone who understands Payments, Technology and Product and has a proven track record of delivering complex software and integration projects.
You should be comfortable working between business and technical teams, understanding technical challenges while maintaining ownership of delivery, timelines, dependencies and outcomes.
Experience across FinTech, digital payments, payment platforms, payment integrations or digital financial services would be highly relevant.
