About the Opportunity
We are conducting a confidential search for a Senior Sourcing Specialist to support a leading global financial services organization developing multiple large-scale, ground-up data center campuses in the United States.
This is a high-visibility sourcing role at the intersection of data center construction, technology infrastructure, supplier management, and strategic procurement. The successful candidate will help develop and execute sourcing strategies for construction materials, equipment, professional services, specialty contractors, consultants, and other critical infrastructure requirements.
This individual will work closely with Construction, Engineering, Facilities, Technology, Project Management, Finance, Legal, and external suppliers to ensure sourcing decisions support project schedules, cost objectives, quality requirements, risk management, and long-term infrastructure needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic sourcing strategies for major data center construction and infrastructure projects.
- Source and negotiate materials, equipment, construction-related services, professional services, consultants, specialty contractors, and other critical infrastructure requirements.
- Lead RFx processes, competitive bidding, supplier evaluations, negotiations, selection, and contract execution.
- Negotiate and manage Master Service Agreements (MSAs), service agreements, Statements of Work (SOWs), and other commercial contracts.
- Partner with Legal and business stakeholders to ensure agreements address commercial, compliance, regulatory, risk, and performance requirements.
- Develop multi-year sourcing strategies that maximize buying power across multiple data center campuses and projects.
- Build and manage strategic supplier relationships, including supplier capacity, performance, quality, delivery, pricing, and commercial commitments.
- Monitor long-lead materials and equipment against construction schedules, milestones, and project requirements.
- Identify supply-chain constraints and develop alternate sourcing, capacity planning, demand modeling, inventory, and warehousing strategies as needed.
- Analyze supplier markets, spend, pricing, market trends, and competitive conditions to identify sourcing and value opportunities.
- Provide procurement data, reporting, KPIs, dashboards, and actionable insights to business and project stakeholders.
- Use procurement technology, ERP systems, analytics, and AI-enabled tools to improve sourcing effectiveness and decision-making.
- Manage multiple strategic initiatives while supporting day-to-day procurement activities and issue resolution.
- Maintain accurate sourcing and procurement information, track actions, follow up with stakeholders and suppliers, and drive commitments through completion.
- Serve as a trusted sourcing advisor to business, construction, engineering, technology, and project leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Finance, Procurement, or a related field, or equivalent relevant sourcing/procurement experience.
- 10+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or category management, including significant experience supporting design and construction.
- Candidates with an MBA or other advanced degree may qualify with 8+ years of relevant experience.
- Demonstrated experience with construction sourcing/procurement for data centers or similarly complex infrastructure environments.
- Experience negotiating and managing MSAs, service agreements, SOWs, and complex supplier contracts.
- Strong experience leading RFx processes, supplier evaluations, competitive negotiations, and contract execution.
- Demonstrated understanding of how sourcing and procurement decisions affect construction schedules, project milestones, cost, risk, and infrastructure delivery.
- Strong supplier management, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to operate effectively in a matrixed organization with multiple priorities and competing deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to translate procurement data into actionable insights.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in financial services, banking, capital markets, investment banking, or another highly regulated technology environment.
- Experience supporting data center, hyperscale, colocation, mission-critical, or other large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Experience with ground-up/greenfield construction and major capital projects.
- Experience sourcing long-lead electrical, mechanical, MEP, technology infrastructure, or other critical construction equipment and services.
- Experience working with engineering firms, consultants, EPCs, GCs, specialty contractors, and critical infrastructure suppliers.
- Experience managing supply-chain constraints, supplier capacity, demand planning, forecasting, and supply-chain risk.
- Experience supporting infrastructure environments where resiliency, redundancy, security, availability, and business continuity are critical requirements.
- Experience using procurement/ERP platforms and tools for RFx, sourcing, contract management, supplier management, and task tracking.
- Experience with procurement analytics, KPIs, dashboards, market intelligence, and AI-enabled sourcing or analytical tools.
- Advanced degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, Finance, or a related discipline.

The ideal candidate is a strategic sourcing professional who understands that procurement decisions can directly impact the successful delivery of complex data center construction projects.
You should be comfortable working with construction schedules, long-lead equipment, supplier capacity constraints, commercial risk, competitive sourcing, and complex contract negotiations. Experience negotiating MSAs, service agreements, and SOWs is particularly important.
Financial services experience is strongly preferred because of the unique infrastructure requirements associated with highly regulated, business-critical technology environments, including resiliency, redundancy, security, availability, and business continuity.
The successful candidate will be able to hit the ground running, work independently, manage competing priorities, communicate effectively with senior stakeholders, and serve as a trusted resource for sourcing and procurement matters.
