Randstad Sourceright, a leading provider of RPO & MSP Recruitment Services is currently recruiting for a Quality Professional to join a World leader offering Products, Solutions and Services across the entire Energy value chain on behalf of a well established manufacturing organisation to play a key role in supporting Manufacturing Operations.
The Quality Professional (Subsea) drives quality standards, compliance, and process optimization across subsea engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain operations. Operating across cross-functional teams, the role implements Lean/Agile workflows, applies risk-based controls, and uses digital dashboards to prevent defects before they happen. Essential duties include managing ISO 9001 compliance, leading root-cause analyses, delivering quality training, and utilizing customer feedback to ensure right-first-time delivery in a regulated engineering environment.
Some of the duties will include but are not limited to:
- Help develop, manage, and continuously update procedures and tools within the Subsea Quality Management System (QMS).
- Support internal, client, and external regulatory audits (such as ISO 9001 compliance) and ensure all corrective actions are addressed.
- Ensure engineering, operational, and customer specifications are understood and adhered to across all projects.
- Apply risk-based thinking across design, supply chain, and manufacturing processes to prevent quality failures before they occur.
- Investigate quality issues using structured methodologies (e.g., PDCA, Root Cause Analysis, Value Stream Mapping) to eliminate defects.
- Analyze workflows to remove process waste, clear bottlenecks, and improve operational flow.
- Gather quality data to build clear dashboards and reports that highlight trends, risks, and performance for senior management.
- Identify and implement digital tools to improve traceability, data transparency, and evidence-based decision-making.
- Track customer feedback and satisfaction metrics (e.g., NPS) and translate insights into concrete operational improvements.
- Foster a transparent culture focused on early issue reporting, prevention, and continuous learning across all departments.
- Develop and deliver guidance to employees on quality tools, standards, and best practices.
- Align quality efforts across Engineering, Manufacturing, Project Management, and Supply Chain, as well as broader international quality networks.
Essential Requirements:
- Degree, HNC/HND (or equivalent qualification) in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Business Improvement, or a related discipline—or demonstrable equivalent industrial experience.
- Professional engineering or quality membership (or progress toward professional registration) is considered advantageous.
- Proven hands-on experience in Quality Management, Quality Assurance, Quality Engineering, or Continuous Improvement within a technically regulated engineering/manufacturing environment.
- Prior experience in Subsea, Oil & Gas, Energy, Aerospace, Defense, or Automotive sectors is highly preferred.
- Strong working familiarity with ISO 9001, industry-specific quality standards, legal regulations, and customer-specific requirements.
- Practical understanding of quality and continuous improvement tools, such as PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act), Root Cause Analysis, Value Stream Mapping, and process mapping.
- Deep understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS), risk-based thinking, quality planning, and audit execution.
- Proficiency in analyzing quality data and using digital tools or dashboards to drive evidence-based decision-making and performance visibility.
- Ability to coach, coordinate, and align cross-functional teams (Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain) without requiring direct line-management authority.
- Excellent communication skills to deliver training, facilitate problem-solving sessions, and escalate systemic issues to leadership.
- A strong commitment to customer satisfaction, right-first-time delivery, and building a proactive, transparent quality culture.
Desirable Requirements:
- Specific prior experience within the Subsea, Oil & Gas, or Energy sectors.
- Experience operating within other heavily regulated, high-precision engineering environments such as Aerospace, Defense, or Automotive.
- Holding a professional membership with an accredited quality or engineering body (e.g., CQI, CIPS, IET, or IMechE) or actively working toward professional registration.
- Certified internal or lead auditor qualification for ISO 9001 or related industry standards.
- Formal training or practical experience applying Agile project methods or advanced Lean techniques (e.g., Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt) to coordinate multi-site continuous improvement initiatives.
- Proven track record of designing or deploying innovative digital tools, automated quality tracking, or advanced data visualization dashboards to enhance supply chain and manufacturing traceability.
- Experience building or coordinating national or international quality networks across multiple sites to standardize processes and transfer lessons learned.
