We are seeking a Salesforce Software Engineer 2 to design, develop, implement, test, and maintain Salesforce solutions supporting digital platforms, customer experiences, dealer ecosystems, and enterprise business processes.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Salesforce development, cloud applications, integrations, APIs, automation, data modeling, security, and enterprise software engineering practices.
You will collaborate closely with technical teams and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and reliable Salesforce solutions.
Responsibilities
- Develop, configure, test, deploy, and maintain Salesforce solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Visualforce, JavaScript, SOQL/SOSL, and Salesforce APIs.
- Build and maintain solutions across Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Marketing Cloud, and Data Cloud.
- Develop declarative solutions using Salesforce Flow, validation rules, custom objects, automation, approval processes, and platform configuration.
- Design and implement integrations between Salesforce and enterprise applications using REST, SOAP, Platform Events, middleware, and event-driven architectures.
- Translate business and technical requirements into scalable Salesforce solutions.
- Troubleshoot application, integration, automation, data, deployment, and performance issues.
- Implement Salesforce security using profiles, permission sets, permission set groups, sharing rules, role hierarchy, and field-level security.
- Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, technical documentation, release planning, and platform optimization.
- Develop unit, integration, regression, and user-acceptance testing while maintaining Apex test coverage.
- Support Salesforce DevOps, Git, CI/CD pipelines, and release management.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, standups, backlog refinement, testing, and production support.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Salesforce Administrators, Architects, QA Engineers, DevOps Engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities to improve business processes through Salesforce automation, integrations, and data quality improvements.
- Contribute to development standards, reusable components, coding guidelines, and Salesforce best practices.
- Stay current with emerging Salesforce technologies, AI-assisted capabilities, platform releases, and development tools.
Qualifications
- 2–4 years of Salesforce development experience or experience in a similar capacity.
- Hands-on experience developing, configuring, testing, and deploying Salesforce solutions.
- Strong knowledge of Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Salesforce Flow, data modeling, and Salesforce security.
- Experience integrating Salesforce with enterprise applications, APIs, middleware, identity providers, and external systems.
- Understanding of Salesforce governance, platform limits, release management, and scalable solution design.
- Experience with Git, CI/CD, DevOps, Agile, and enterprise software development practices.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, collaboration, and technical documentation skills.
Preferred
- Salesforce certification such as:
- Salesforce Administrator
- Platform Developer I
- Platform Developer II
- Experience Cloud
- Other relevant Salesforce certifications
- Experience with Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Marketing Cloud, or Data Cloud.
- Experience with Salesforce DevOps and automated deployment practices.

Work Environment
The position is based within a major Digital/Technology Hub in Chicago or Peoria, with Dallas, TX also available as a potential location.
The current work arrangement is hybrid, with 1–2 days in the office per week. Candidates must be comfortable with the possibility of the role transitioning to a full-time onsite schedule in the future.
