About the Role
An experienced Automation Engineer is required to support pharmaceutical manufacturing operations through automation, controls and continuous improvement. The role focuses on maintaining reliable GMP manufacturing systems, troubleshooting issues and implementing automation improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Support 24/7 operation of GMP process and facility equipment to maximize uptime
- Troubleshoot and resolve automation and controls system issues
- Manage automation vendors and suppliers during implementation and ongoing support
- Develop and maintain automation specifications and technical documentation
- Collaborate with IT/OT teams to maintain secure, reliable infrastructure
- Mentor junior engineers and technicians
- Drive automation improvements through hardware and software upgrades
- Participate in an on-call rotation supporting manufacturing operations
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Automation, Electrical Engineering or a related field; Bachelor’s preferred
- Experience with industrial automation and controls in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMI development and FactoryTalk
- Knowledge of SCADA, Building Automation Systems and network infrastructure
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Understanding of manufacturing safety practices
- Experience in regulated industries such as pharmaceuticals or biotechnology preferred
- Ability to support an on-call schedule
