Job Overview
We are seeking a GenAI Engineer with a strong software engineering background and hands-on experience building and deploying Generative AI solutions using Microsoft Azure AI services. The ideal candidate will have strong Python development skills and experience working with LLMs, RAG architectures, AI agents, APIs, and cloud-based AI applications.
The candidate should be capable of taking GenAI solutions from concept and experimentation through development, testing, deployment, and production support.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy Generative AI applications and services using Azure AI technologies.
- Build scalable AI solutions using Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Foundry, Azure AI Search, Azure AI Services, and related Azure capabilities.
- Develop production-quality applications and APIs using Python.
- Design and implement RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) solutions using Azure AI Search and vector databases.
- Integrate LLMs into enterprise applications through APIs, SDKs, and cloud services.
- Develop and integrate AI agents, prompt workflows, tool calling, and function calling.
- Implement prompt engineering, evaluation, grounding, and response-quality improvements.
- Work with software engineering teams to integrate GenAI capabilities into existing applications and platforms.
- Develop reusable services, microservices, APIs, and AI components following software engineering best practices.
- Implement testing, monitoring, logging, security, and performance optimization for GenAI applications.
- Collaborate with product managers, architects, data engineers, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into AI solutions.
- Troubleshoot production issues and continuously improve AI applications.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of software engineering/development experience with strong programming fundamentals.
- Strong hands-on Python development experience.
- Hands-on experience developing Generative AI / LLM applications.
- Strong experience with Microsoft Azure AI technologies, preferably:
- Azure OpenAI Service
- Azure AI Foundry
- Azure AI Search
- Azure AI Services
- Azure Machine Learning
- Azure Functions
- Azure Container Apps / AKS
- Experience with RAG architecture, embeddings, vector search, and knowledge retrieval.
- Experience working with LLMs such as GPT models and/or other commercial/open-source LLMs.
- Strong understanding of REST APIs, SDKs, microservices, and cloud-based application development.
- Experience with Git, CI/CD, testing, debugging, and production deployment.
- Understanding of software architecture, design patterns, scalability, and secure application development.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with AI agents / agentic workflows.
- Experience with frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, Semantic Kernel, or similar.
- Experience with vector databases such as Azure AI Search, Pinecone, Weaviate, or FAISS.
- Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes/AKS.
- Experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with LLM evaluation, observability, guardrails, and responsible AI.
- Familiarity with SQL, NoSQL, and data engineering concepts.
- Experience integrating GenAI into existing enterprise applications.
