About The Role
We are seeking an Applied Machine Learning Engineer to join Apple's Security Engineering & Architecture team. In this critical role, you will work at the intersection of security research and machine learning to develop sophisticated systems that enhance Apple’s ability to detect, analyze, and mitigate vulnerabilities across its extensive product ecosystem. Your primary responsibility will be to design and implement ML‑driven solutions, utilizing large language models, generative modeling, and agentic workflows, to support security analysts in navigating complex codebases and identifying subtle security weaknesses. This position offers a unique opportunity to influence the security posture of products used by over a billion users worldwide, providing exposure to full‑stack security analysis—from hardware to software layers—and collaboration with top-tier security researchers and engineers.
Qualifications
- Expertise in machine learning, particularly large language models and generative modeling techniques
- Strong enthusiasm for security, especially offensive security and vulnerability research
- Proficiency in software engineering with languages such as C, C++, Python, Swift, Objective-C, or Rust
- Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Experience with data analysis, model training, and deployment in security contexts
