About the job

This role is being recruited by CoffeeSpace on behalf of an anonymous AI infrastructure startup focused on building tools for trial attorneys.

We’re identifying a small number of exceptional full stack engineers from our network. If there’s a strong fit, we’ll introduce you directly to the founding team.

Location: New York, NY (preferred)

Compensation: $180K–$220K base + 0.2%–0.5% equity

Employment type: Full-time

About the company

This company is developing an AI infrastructure platform tailored for litigation attorneys, integrating predictive modeling and AI-powered features to enhance legal processes. With $3.8M in funding, including a $1.6M seed round backed by Antler, the company is leveraging a vast repository of 20M+ litigation documents and proprietary judicial behavioral intelligence.

The team is small, consisting of 3 full-stack engineers and 2 data engineers, and is focused on delivering high-stakes AI solutions where accuracy is crucial.

About the role

As a Full Stack Engineer, you will be a key player in a 4–5 person team, taking ownership of both frontend and backend components of the AI infrastructure. You will work on agent architecture, including orchestrators and sub-agents, and ensure the AI outputs are reliable for courtroom use.

What You’ll Do

- Build and ship features across the entire stack — frontend (React, Next.js, TypeScript), backend, and AI systems.

- Take full ownership of third-party integrations (e.g., Clio, iManage, Salesforce) from scoping to deployment.

- Collaborate with a small team to optimize system stability and performance.

- Develop AI-powered features like document extraction and agent orchestration tailored for litigation.

- Contribute to backend optimization to enhance reliability at scale.

Why This Role Is Compelling

- Join as the 3rd founding engineer with significant equity in a pre-Series A company.

- Directly partner with the founder on UX and product decisions.

- Work on AI that matters, ensuring correctness in legal applications.

- Engage with cutting-edge agent engineering, including orchestrator/sub-agent patterns and eval loops.

The Ideal Candidate

- 3–8 years of experience in full stack development.

- Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, SQL, React, Next.js, and modern CSS.

- Experience with AI architectures, including LLM Agent Architectures and RAG.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment and adapt quickly to changes.

Next steps

- 1. Apply via this LinkedIn job post

- 3. If aligned, we’ll introduce you directly to the team

- 4. If this role isn’t the right fit, we may suggest and make introductions to other high-signal startup roles we’re recruiting for, always with your permission.
