About the role

We are seeking an experienced Information Governance professional to join our team as the Data and AI Governance Lead. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for safeguarding organisational information and data assets through effective records management, data governance, information classification, and compliance practices.

As the subject matter expert, you will drive the implementation of Microsoft Purview and associated governance corporate record frameworks, while providing expert advice, training, and oversight to support the secure, compliant, and responsible use of information, data, and emerging AI capabilities across the organisation.

About you

To be successful in this role you will possess:

- Tertiary qualifications in administration, information management, information, communication and technology or equivalent

- Strong understanding and practical application of data and AI governance principles, including risk and compliance, and demonstrated experience developing governance frameworks, standards, policies and guidelines.

- Proven experience contributing to the development and execution of strategic data initiatives and supporting implementation of a data roadmap aligned with departmental and organisational objectives.

- Proven corporate records management experience in a complex environment

- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the digitisation of contemporary and historical records

- Knowledge of cyber security principles and controls, threats and solutions to mitigate. Sound knowledge of current developments, trends and legislation in records management and related information systems

- Ability to work closely with information managers, hospital administration, medical staff, health care professionals, and other hospital employees.

- Demonstrated effective and appropriate written, verbal, presentation and interpersonal communication techniques

- Proven ability to work independently and to well-developed skills to prioritise work requirements to meet deadlines

- Demonstrated ability in finding opportunities, pragmatic problem solving and decision-making skills.

- Eligibility for membership of Records & Information Management Professionals Australasia (RIMPA)

- Current Victorian drivers licence.
