About the role

The Eastern Health Adult Mental Health and Wellbeing Program is looking for the right person to join the service as a families where a parent has a mental illness co-ordinator to promote the mental health, well-being and recovery of families where a parent has a mental illness. Based in East Ringwood, you will have a significant role to play in developing strong relationships with key stakeholders in the eastern metropolitan region who work with children, youth and families and in contributing to the professional development needs of the mental health, alcohol and other drugs and family service providers.

The successful applicant will have significant expertise in clinical service delivery in mental health as a mental health clinician and experience in, and knowledge of, the adult, child and youth mental health field and associated health and welfare services. You will also have experience of working within a recovery-oriented framework and in the provision of workforce development and quality improvement activities.

About you

To be successful in this role you will possess:

Demonstrated experience in working with adults who are parents who have experienced mental illness, and their families.

Highly developed ability to provide professional leadership and engage in strategic planning for issues relating to families, children and carers.

Experience in, and knowledge of, the adult, child and adolescent mental health field and associated health and welfare services, including understanding of the developmental needs of children 0-18 years.

Highly developed interpersonal and leadership experience

A strong commitment to high quality care

The ability to work as part of a diverse team

Excellent communication and organisational skills

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.

Those that are offered and/or start between January and April do not require an up to date vaccination for Influenza to progress providing they are aware of its requirement later in the year. Those that are offered and/or start between May and December require the up to date Influenza vaccination prior to offer.
