Role Description The Shariah Takaful Consultant is a full-time role based in Puchong with a hybrid work arrangement, allowing some tasks to be carried out from home. The consultant will advise on Shariah-compliant takaful products and services, ensuring offerings align with relevant Shariah principles, regulations, and internal governance. Day-to-day responsibilities include providing consultation to internal teams and customers, reviewing product structures and documentation for Shariah compliance, and supporting the development of new family takaful solutions. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders, preparing reports and recommendations for Shariah committees, and assisting in staff education and awareness on Shariah-related matters. The consultant is expected to stay current on Shariah standards and industry guidelines to support continuous improvement of PruBSN’s takaful offerings.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Shariah, Islamic finance, or related disciplines, with knowledge of takaful principles and regulatory frameworks.
- Experience in consulting, advisory, or compliance roles within Islamic finance, insurance/takaful, or financial services.
- Excellent analytical and research abilities to review product structures, documentation, and Shariah guidelines.
- Clear and professional communication skills, with the ability to explain complex Shariah concepts to diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in report writing, documentation, and presentation preparation for internal management and Shariah committees.
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and manage multiple tasks in a hybrid work environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Shariah, Islamic studies, Islamic finance, law, or a related field; professional certifications in Islamic finance or takaful are an advantage.
- High level of integrity, attention to detail, and commitment to upholding ethical and Shariah-compliant practices.
