Our client is looking for a DV-cleared Infrastructure Solutions Designer to design and deliver complex on-premises, cloud, and hybrid infrastructure solutions for highly secure, mission-critical environments. You'll need strong hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Ansible and Terraform, solid Linux knowledge, and a good grasp of network architecture. This is a brilliant opportunity to work on some genuinely rare and impactful projects with a team at the forefront of national cyber security.
The Key Responsibilities of a Infrastructure Solutions Designer:
- Lead the design and architecture of on-premises, cloud, and hybrid infrastructure solutions.
- Take a hands-on role in specification, implementation, configuration, and testing of solutions.
- Ensure all solutions meet security and compliance requirements for sensitive environments.
- Own and deliver specific project components against time, cost, and quality targets.
- Provide third-line support for deployed cloud-based infrastructure solutions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and subject matter experts.
- Contribute to knowledge sharing through mentoring, coaching, and documenting best practices.
Below is a list of Key Skills required for a Infrastructure Solutions Designer, however you will not be expected to have everything:
- Experience designing complex infrastructure architectures across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.
- In-depth technical knowledge of the Linux operating system.
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code and configuration management tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or Puppet.
- Strong understanding of network architecture including routing, switching, firewalls, and VLANs.
- Experience working within data centre and IT infrastructure environments.
- Proven ability to embed security requirements throughout solution design and delivery.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to document and communicate solutions clearly.
The client would also like to see some of the below, but this is not essential:
- Experience with big data architectures and designing large-scale data processing solutions.
- Knowledge of cloud and hybrid data processing architectures.
- Scripting ability, particularly in Python or similar languages.
- Experience leading task delivery using a DevOps way of working.
- Track record of owning project delivery against time, cost, and quality metrics.
