Full Stack Engineer - AI Systems

💰 Salary Range: $160,000 - $250,000 base salary + equity (Final compensation determined by experience, skills, and market factors.)

We're partnering with an innovative AI-focused company building the next generation of agentic applications. This is an opportunity to join a high-caliber engineering team focused on creating AI-native products that leverage LLMs, memory, and external tools to solve real-world problems at scale. The team is tackling some of the most interesting challenges in AI today, including reliability, orchestration, latency optimization, and long-running autonomous workflows.
What You'll Do:
- Build end-to-end product features across frontend, backend, and AI systems
- Design and implement multi-step agent workflows that can plan, execute, recover from failures, and complete complex tasks
- Integrate LLMs, retrieval systems, memory architectures, and external tools into production applications
- Create highly responsive AI experiences featuring streaming responses and real-time interactions
- Improve platform reliability, observability, monitoring, and resiliency
- Collaborate closely with product, machine learning, and backend engineering teams
- Continuously iterate on AI workflows based on user behavior, performance metrics, and real-world outcomes
- Help establish engineering patterns and best practices for scalable AI products
What We're Looking For:
- 4+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Strong full stack development experience across frontend and backend systems
- Experience designing APIs and scalable distributed systems
- Hands-on experience building AI-powered applications, LLM integrations, RAG systems, agents, or workflow orchestration platforms
- Strong proficiency with JavaScript/TypeScript and modern web frameworks
- Experience with Python for backend services and AI integrations
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments with evolving requirements
- Strong ownership mindset with a passion for taking products from concept to production

- Agentic AI systems
- Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG)
- OpenAI, Anthropic, or open-source LLMs
- Kubernetes and Docker

Illinois Pay Transparency Statement:
In accordance with Illinois law, the anticipated base salary range for this position is $160,000 - $220,000 annually, plus potential equity and additional benefits. Actual compensation will depend on qualifications, experience, skills, and geographic location.
