Spectrum Search is partnered with an established technology company seeking a senior individual contributor to take ownership of its financial planning platform and help modernise FP&A through artificial intelligence and automation. This is a highly visible role combining strategic finance, systems ownership and hands-on process improvement.
About the opportunity
The organisation is strengthening its financial planning capability, with a particular focus on improving budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling and automation.
This opportunity offers significant ownership across the planning environment, alongside direct exposure to senior finance leadership and key stakeholders. The successful candidate will sit within the FP&A function and work closely with Accounting, IT and business teams.
The role
You will own the Pigment planning platform end-to-end, ensuring its models, hierarchies, integrations and outputs support accurate and effective financial planning.
Alongside platform ownership, you will identify opportunities to replace manual finance processes with practical AI agents and automation. The role requires someone equally comfortable working hands-on with systems and financial models as they are communicating financial outcomes to senior leadership.
Key responsibilities
- Own and administer the Pigment financial planning platform, including models, hierarchies, data integrations and reporting outputs
- Lead end-to-end budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling and variance analysis across business segments
- Build and deploy AI agents and workflow automations that improve finance processes and reduce manual activity
- Translate complex financial models and analysis into clear narratives for senior leadership and other key stakeholders
- Translate business requirements into effective planning models and system improvements
- Partner with FP&A, Accounting and IT to maintain data integrity and reliable financial reporting
- Support the integration and reconciliation of actuals from enterprise resource planning systems
- Train and support business users across the financial planning platform
- Identify opportunities to modernise existing FP&A processes through systems, AI and automation
Essential requirements
- Demonstrable ownership and administration of the Pigment planning platform, rather than solely end-user experience
- Strong FP&A or strategic finance experience covering budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling and variance analysis
- Experience managing planning platform hierarchies, integrations and financial models
- Practical experience building and deploying at least one AI agent or automation used within a business environment
- Experience working with SAP or a comparable enterprise resource planning system within finance
- Strong understanding of financial data, including actuals and cost centre reconciliation
- Ability to communicate financial analysis clearly to CFO-level leadership and senior stakeholders
- Comfortable operating independently as the hands-on owner of a business-critical finance system
Nice-to-haves
- Experience using AI tools such as Gemini, Claude or Copilot to automate finance workflows
- Experience supporting planning and analysis across multiple profit and loss areas
- Previous responsibility for training business users on enterprise planning systems
