Senior Mainframe Database Administrator (DB2 z/OS / Oracle / SQL Server)
Location: Tallahassee, FL (100% onsite – no remote)
Type: 10+ Months contract| Rate: Up to $60/hr all-inclusive
Role Summary
Seeking a senior DBA with 15+ years of combined experience to support mission-critical DB2 (z/OS), Oracle, and SQL Server databases in a large state-agency environment. Focus on design, performance tuning, operations, and compliance with strict security and reliability standards.
Must-Have Skills
- 15+ years in database administration: DB2 for z/OS, SQL Server (2008R2/2012+), Oracle (10g+)
- Advanced DB2 z/OS: upgrades, catalog maintenance, subsystem PIT recovery, JCL, z/OS platform, ISPF, RACF, CICS
- Solid knowledge of Oracle & MSSQL administration, performance tuning, SSMS/SSRS/SSIS, Windows Servers
- Experience with disaster recovery, change management, and infrastructure implementation planning
- Bachelor’s in CS/IS or equivalent experience
Key Responsibilities
- Daily DBA operations for DB2 z/OS, Oracle, SQL Server
- Design, implement, and tune database structures and schemas
- Performance monitoring, SQL code reviews, and documentation
- Support DR activities and mentor junior staff

- Exposure to financial or transportation applications
