One of the world’s biggest TV and film companies is building a new AI engineering team in Ireland.
They make content for Netflix, Prime Video and major broadcasters around the world. Their first in-house AI product is already live, and what they’re doing is well ahead of most of the industry.
They have petabytes of video, audio, scripts, images and metadata built up across the business. The opportunity is to make all of that content searchable, understandable and useful—and to build completely new tools for filmmakers and production teams.
Very few media companies are doing anything comparable at this scale.
They’re looking for strong engineers from a mix of backgrounds. You might work in backend or product engineering, data platforms, distributed systems, machine learning or AI infrastructure.
Python is central, GCP is the current cloud environment and Next.js is used on the product side. They’re not looking for an exact technology match, though.
The important thing is that you’ve built and owned real production systems. You can talk about the difficult parts: failures, scaling, reliability, cost and the trade-offs you made along the way.
It’s a small team at the beginning of a major investment, so there’s genuine ownership over what gets built and how it gets built. You won’t be joining after all the important technical decisions have already been made.
