Houston, TX law firm is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney

A boutique litigation law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its Houston, Texas office. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated attorney looking to build a long-term career in a collaborative litigation practice that handles sophisticated and complex disputes. The ideal candidate will have strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills, along with experience managing litigation matters in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

- Active license to practice law in Texas, or eligibility for admission.

- 2-4 years of litigation experience as an attorney in Texas.

- Experience billing time in accordance with insurance defense guidelines.

- Strong knowledge of legal principles, statutes, case law, and procedural rules.

- Excellent legal research and analytical skills, including experience preparing research memoranda.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.

- Ability to provide practical legal guidance and effectively support client needs.

- Experience participating in negotiations and settlement discussions.

- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines.

- Prior litigation experience through a law firm, clerkship, or internship is preferred.

Responsibilities

- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, and other litigation-related documents.

- Conduct legal research and analysis to support case strategy and client representation.

- Assist with the development and execution of litigation strategies from case inception through resolution.

- Participate in client meetings and provide legal guidance under attorney supervision.

- Support settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolution efforts when appropriate.

- Prepare cases for hearings, depositions, mediations, and trial.

- Manage case files, monitor deadlines, and ensure compliance with court rules and procedural requirements.

- Collaborate closely with partners, attorneys, and support staff to deliver exceptional client service and achieve favorable outcomes.

- Maintain accurate billing records and meet firm expectations for productivity and client service.
