- The firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Associate with a minimum of 3 years of litigation experience, particularly involving personal injury, automobile accidents, tort matters, and insurance-related litigation.

Position Responsibilities
The Litigation Associate will handle a broad range of civil litigation responsibilities, including:
Case Management & Litigation
- Manage assigned insurance defense and tort litigation matters from inception through resolution.
- Represent insureds and insurance companies in a variety of civil litigation matters.
- Develop case strategies based on the facts, applicable law, and client objectives.
- Conduct comprehensive case evaluation and risk assessment.
- Manage litigation deadlines, case calendars, and overall case progression.
- Work independently while collaborating with partners, associates, clients, and litigation support staff.
Discovery & Depositions
- Handle all aspects of pre-trial discovery.
- Draft and respond to interrogatories, requests for production, requests for admissions, and other discovery.
- Conduct and defend fact and expert depositions.
- Analyze discovery and evidence to identify strengths, weaknesses, and potential exposure.
- Develop effective discovery strategies tailored to each matter.
Motion Practice
- Research and analyze complex legal issues.
- Draft motions, briefs, memoranda, and other substantive legal documents.
- Prepare and respond to dispositive and non-dispositive motions.
- Present arguments before courts when appropriate.
Client & Insurance Company Communication
- Maintain regular communication with clients, claims professionals, insurance carriers, and other stakeholders.
- Provide clear and timely client reporting regarding case status, exposure, strategy, and anticipated developments.
- Evaluate liability, damages, settlement opportunities, and litigation risk.
- Assist clients and insurance companies in making informed decisions regarding settlement and trial strategy.
Trial & Litigation Strategy
- Serve as trial counsel in appropriate matters.
- Prepare cases for trial, including witness preparation, exhibits, motions, and trial strategy.
- Participate in mediations, settlement negotiations, hearings, and other litigation proceedings.
- Develop practical, cost-effective strategies designed to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
Requirements
What We're Looking For:
- 3+ years of civil litigation experience.
- Experience handling insurance defense, tort, personal injury, automobile accident, or related litigation matters.
- Experience representing insureds and/or insurance companies strongly preferred.
- Active Ohio law license in good standing.
- Strong understanding of litigation procedures and the civil discovery process.
- Experience with depositions and motion practice.
- Excellent legal research and writing skills.
- Strong analytical and case-evaluation abilities.
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team.
- Strong professional judgment and attention to detail.
