About the Job
We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee field operations on major commercial and federal construction projects. The ideal candidate will have 5–10 years of Superintendent experience, including ground-up projects of similar scope and value, preferably $15M+, with prior USACE project experience strongly preferred.
The Superintendent will be responsible for daily site operations, schedule execution, safety compliance, quality coordination, and project documentation while working closely with subcontractors, project management, and government representatives.
Essential Qualifications
- Current USACE Construction Quality Management for Contractors (CQM-C) certification.
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification.
- Strong working knowledge of EM 385-1-1 Safety and Health Requirements.
- 5–10 years of construction Superintendent experience on ground-up commercial or federal projects.
- Experience with projects of similar size and scope, preferably $15M+.
- Previous USACE/federal construction experience strongly preferred.
- Proficiency with Primavera P6 or MS Project.
- Familiarity with Procore and/or RMS (Resident Management System).
Key Responsibilities
- Direct daily field operations, subcontractors, direct-hire labor, and material deliveries.
- Maintain the critical path and identify and mitigate schedule delays.
- Ensure construction complies with approved plans, specifications, and applicable federal requirements.
- Enforce the project Accident Prevention Plan (APP) and Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs).
- Conduct daily safety meetings and weekly toolbox talks.
- Coordinate closely with the Quality Control Manager on project quality requirements.
- Prepare for and participate in the USACE Three Phases of Control: Preparatory, Initial, and Follow-up inspections.
- Ensure punch-list items are corrected and documented through RMS.
- Prepare detailed daily reports covering weather, workforce, equipment, progress, and safety incidents.
- Maintain current redline/as-built drawings throughout construction.
- Communicate professionally with the USACE Resident Engineer, Contracting Officer, and Administrative Contracting Officer.
