Fully remote opportunity for real estate accounting professionals based in SLC. Our client invests across multifamily, commercial mixed-use, and other operating real estate with a value-add / opportunistic strategy. The firm has grown meaningfully over the past several years and is backed by a sophisticated LP base of endowments, foundations, and family offices.
This is a reviewer-level seat focused on property-level and corporate accounting.
Please note the role is only remote for candidates based in SLC.
Responsibilities:
- Review monthly and quarterly property-level financial reporting prepared by third-party property managers across an assigned portfolio
- Coordinate with property managers and external accountants on close, variance analysis, and supporting workpapers
- Onboard new acquisitions into Yardi — allocation of acquisition costs, debt setup, and entity configuration
- CapEx tracking, lender draws and reporting, and property-level loan covenant compliance
- Own month-end close for corporate and entity-level books, including the management company, GP and holding entities, and intercompany allocations across the platform
- Manage corporate cash and treasury operations, including funding of property-level operations, distributions, and capital calls
- Prepare corporate and entity-level financial reporting for leadership, including budget vs. actual and quarterly forecast updates
- Coordinate with external CPAs on corporate tax filings and support the annual audit at the corporate/entity level
- Support the Controller and Director of Finance on ad hoc reporting, analysis, and process improvements across the platform
Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of real estate property accounting experience
- Residential real estate background preferred
- Experience with rent-controlled properties is a strong plus
- Yardi proficiency required
- Comfortable operating in a lean, sophisticated, remote environment
Compensation & logistics:
- $100k to $120K base + 15–20% target bonus
- Fully remote for SLC–based candidates
