Head of Infrastructure - Up to $750,000 base + equity | NYC
Ovise has partnered exclusively with a $100M Series A AI simulation company (unicorn valuation) to find their first Head of Infrastructure.
This is a founding leadership hire. You'll own infrastructure strategy end to end, compute, orchestration, data, inference, and serving, while staying hands-on architecting the distributed systems behind millions of concurrent AI agents in production.
What you'll own:
- Set technical direction and roadmap across the full infrastructure stack
- Build and lead the infrastructure team from zero, including hiring and standards
- Architect and build distributed systems at serious scale, hands-on
- Drive cloud efficiency and cost optimization as the platform grows
- Partner directly with the founders as a core technical leader
- Set the bar for reliability, observability, and on-call as the team scales
What we're looking for:
- Track record leading infrastructure or platform engineering at scale, ideally AI-native
- Deep hands-on expertise in distributed systems, compute orchestration, and inference/serving
- Experience building an infra team from scratch as a first hire or early leader
- Comfortable at both the architecture level and in the code, this isn't a purely managerial seat
- Sharp judgment on scale vs latency vs reliability vs cost tradeoffs
- Experience working closely with founders in a fast-moving startup
- Compensation: base up to $750,000, meaningful equity, reporting to CTO
