Smart Choice International is representing a leading organisation within Singapore’s financial services sector in the search for an experiencedData & AI Governance Lead
This is a highly visible role focused on building and maturing enterprise-wide Data and AI Governance capabilities, ensuring data and AI are managed as trusted, secure and compliant strategic assets.
Working across technology, business, risk, legal and compliance, you will have significant ownership of the frameworks, policies and operating models that underpin the organisation’s approach to Data Governance, AI Governance and Responsible AI.
The Role
You will take ownership of establishing and embedding an enterprise Data & AI Governance framework, including:
- Designing and implementing Enterprise Data & AI Governance frameworks and operating models
- Establishing clear ownership, stewardship, accountability and decision-making structures
- Building and driving an Enterprise Data & AI Council
- Defining governance KPIs, maturity measures and executive reporting
- Developing enterprise policies covering Data, AI and Knowledge Governance
- Establishing standards around Data Quality, Metadata Management, AI Safety and the AI Lifecycle
- Creating and maintaining an Enterprise AI Inventory
- Developing AI classification frameworks and conducting AI Trust Assessments
- Embedding Responsible AI principles across the organisation
- Partnering with Risk teams around AI Risk and Model Risk
- Ensuring alignment with regulatory and industry frameworks including MAS FEAT Principles, MAS AI Governance guidance, PDPA, AI Verify and ISO/IEC 42001
- Supporting regulatory engagements as the Data & AI Governance subject matter expert
- Driving Data & AI governance adoption across business units
- Developing AI literacy, awareness and governance training programmes
What We're Looking For
We are particularly interested in speaking with candidates who have:
- 8–12 years' experience across Data Governance, AI Governance and/or Enterprise Risk Management
- Strong experience within financial services, banking, financial markets or another highly regulated environment
- Proven experience building enterprise governance frameworks from the ground up
- Strong knowledge of AI Governance and Responsible AI
- Experience across AI Risk, Model Risk, Data Quality and Metadata Management
- Understanding of emerging AI regulations and governance standards
- Experience working with senior stakeholders across Technology, Risk, Legal, Compliance and Business functions
- The ability to influence and communicate effectively with C-suite executives and regulators
- Familiarity with Enterprise Architecture would be advantageous
What Success Looks Like
The successful person will play a central role in establishing a mature, enterprise-wide approach to trusted AI and data.
Key outcomes will include the rollout of the Enterprise Data & AI Governance Framework, implementation of an Enterprise AI Inventory, establishment of an active Data & AI Council, adoption of governance policies across the business, and the integration of AI Trust Assessments into the technology lifecycle.
