Senior Full-Stack Architect (AI Infrastructure & Distributed Systems)
Location: Los Angeles, CA (Onsite Preferred)
Compensation: $200K+ Base + Equity (Flexible for exceptional talent)
I'm partnering with a well-funded, venture-backed AI startup building technology that transforms massive amounts of publicly available, unstructured data into actionable intelligence. Their platform is designed to solve complex, real-world problems for enterprise and mission-driven organizations operating in high-stakes environments.
They're looking for a Senior Full-Stack Architect who thrives at the intersection of software engineering, infrastructure, and AI. This is a highly visible leadership role for someone who enjoys designing scalable systems, building alongside a small elite team, and setting the technical direction of a rapidly growing platform.
What You'll Do
- Architect and build highly scalable distributed systems supporting AI-driven products.
- Own the full software lifecycle across backend services, infrastructure, APIs, and customer-facing applications.
- Design reliable cloud infrastructure with a strong focus on observability, automation, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code.
- Build and optimize data pipelines and AI agent infrastructure.
- Partner closely with leadership to influence technical strategy while remaining hands-on in the code.
- Help establish engineering best practices around scalability, reliability, and operational excellence.
What They're Looking For
- 7+ years building and scaling production software.
- Strong full-stack engineering background with deep expertise in cloud architecture.
- Heavy SRE/DevOps experience with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform (or similar), CI/CD, monitoring, and incident response.
- Strong programming experience with Python plus one or more of Go, Rust, Node.js, or TypeScript.
- Experience designing systems that support large-scale enterprise users and high-volume data workloads.
- Comfortable leveraging AI development tools such as Cursor, Claude, or Copilot to accelerate engineering productivity.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to lead technically through influence and execution.
