U. S. Steel is seeking Treasury Student Employees to join the Treasury organization. This role is designed for a motivated student who is interested in gaining hands-on experience in corporate finance, liquidity management, risk management, credit, cash forecasting, banking operations, and other treasury functions that support the company’s financial flexibility and long-term growth. The Student Employee will support meaningful assignments, work cross-functionally with Treasury team members, and develop the analytical, technical, and communication skills needed to support enterprise financial decision-making.
Role Overview
The Treasury Student Employee will gain exposure to core Treasury functions based on business needs, development goals, and individual interests. The role may include assignments supporting corporate finance, debt and liquidity activities, capital markets, risk management, credit, cash forecasting, banking operations, and related special projects. The Student Employee may also work with multiple Treasury teams to understand how Treasury supports daily operations, strategic initiatives, and long-term value creation.
Responsibilities

Support projects related to corporate finance, liquidity, cash management, credit, risk management, debt, banking operations, and capital markets.

Assist with cash forecasting, cash positioning, banking analysis, accounts receivable portfolio support, and other treasury reporting activities.

Analyze financial, operational, and market-related data to identify trends, explain variances, and support business decisions.

Help prepare dashboards, reports, and analytical tools that improve visibility into Treasury activities and financial flexibility.

Collaborate with Treasury, Finance, Accounting, Operations, and management teams through meetings, presentations, and cross-functional project work.

Prepare clear, concise summaries and recommendations for Treasury team members, management, and business partners.

Manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing business needs in a fast-paced environment.

Contribute to process improvement, automation, and digital reporting initiatives across the Treasury organization.
Required Qualifications

Current full-time student pursuing a bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Statistics, Management Information Systems, or a related analytical discipline.

Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience with Microsoft Teams, data analysis, or reporting tools preferred.

Strong quantitative, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and succinctly.

Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize time-sensitive assignments.

Interest in corporate finance, treasury, risk management, credit, banking operations, data analytics, or financial markets.

Reliable transportation is needed to and from operating and office locations
