Jerry’s Floor Store is an established, locally trusted "flooring and more" company serving residential and commercial customers throughout the Twin Cities. We are seeking a motivated Retail Sales Consultant who enjoys working with customers, building relationships, and helping turn flooring ideas into finished projects.
Position Summary
As a Retail Sales Consultant, you will guide customers through the flooring selection process, recommend products based on their needs and style, prepare estimates, and help customers move from selection to purchase. The ideal candidate is personable, sales-driven, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with customers in a showroom environment.
Responsibilities
- Greet and assist customers in the showroom, by phone, and through referrals.
- Consult with customers to understand their needs, preferences, and budget.
- Recommend flooring products, materials, and installation options.
- Prepare accurate estimates, proposals, and sales orders.
- Follow up with customers on quotes and open sales opportunities.
- Build strong customer relationships and close sales.
- Maintain strong knowledge of flooring products, installation, warranties, and current trends.
- Coordinate with project managers, installers, and vendors as needed.
- Maintain accurate customer and sales information in company software.
- Maintain an organized and welcoming showroom environment.
- Meet or exceed sales goals and performance expectations.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of sales or customer service experience required.
- Flooring, home improvement, cabinetry, kitchen & bath, interior design, or building materials experience required.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Confident and comfortable asking for the sale.
- Ability to build relationships and understand customer needs.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficient in working with computer systems and software.
- Ability to work evenings and Saturdays as scheduled.
