A Snapshot of Your Day
You work closely with the Head of the Carve-out Process, the CFO, and cross-functional teams to drive the separation of a business into a standalone company. Your day includes coordinating multiple workstreams, tracking progress toward Day-1 readiness, aligning stakeholders across locations, and managing separation agreements between entities. You balance strategic planning with operational execution, ensuring functions and legal entities are prepared for standalone operations while identifying opportunities to improve business performance and efficiency.
How You’ll Make an Impact

Reporting to the Head of the Carve-out Process, you lead the end-to-end separation of the business into a standalone company and ensure a consistent, transparent and smooth carve-out

As a core member of the carve-out management team, you plan, steer and track all separation workstreams to Day-1 readiness and standalone operation

You negotiate and manage the separation contracts between the separating entities — transitional and long-term service agreements (TSAs / LTSAs)

You ensure the standalone readiness of entities and functions, coordinating closely with all support functions

You support the CFO with relevant business processes and drive initiatives to improve the profitability and efficiency of the standalone business
What You Bring
-
You hold a Master's degree or state examination in Law, Business, Finance or Accounting — a fully qualified lawyer (Volljurist) with a tax-law focus is ideal

You bring proven, hands-on carve-out and separation experience from the M&A / Post-Closing department of a multinational group (or a major advisory firm), having managed multiple separation workstreams through to Day-1 and standalone operation

You have a solid grounding in accounting principles (IFRS, US-GAAP, HGB); experience within a Big Four firm and a qualified auditor (Wirtschaftsprüfer / CPA) or an equivalent examination is a plus

You bring 15+ years of experience in finance and commercial leadership roles, including 10+ years leading international teams across multiple countries

You combine financial and commercial rigor with legal and tax depth and a confident, independent style across locations and stakeholder groups
