Job Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Business Architect to support complex transformation initiatives within Global Payments & Trade. This role will help translate business strategy into actionable solutions by analyzing current-state processes, defining target-state operating models, gathering requirements, and partnering closely with technology and business stakeholders through implementation.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in business architecture, process design, and transformation, with a background in payments, treasury, FinTech, or financial services. This person will work across Product, Technology, Risk & Control, Compliance, and commercial stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement, design more efficient workflows, and help deliver solutions that reduce manual effort and improve the overall user experience.
This is a 12-month contract with potential for conversion. The position is based in New York City with an expectation of 4 days onsite per week.
Key Responsibilities:

Business Transformation: Support the delivery of complex transformation initiatives from initial intake and demand management through implementation, rollout, and benefits realization.

Current & Future-State Design: Analyze existing business processes, workflows, and operating models to identify pain points, gaps, and opportunities. Develop current-state and target-state models that support broader process and organizational transformation.

Business Solutioning: Analyze business needs and translate them into practical solutions designed to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and the overall experience for commercial and business users.

Stakeholder Management: Partner with stakeholders across Technology, Product, Relationship Management, Risk, Compliance, CAO, and other business functions to understand needs, gather requirements, and build alignment around future-state solutions.

Process & Workflow Design: Develop detailed process flows, business process models, and requirements for new or enhanced workflows using tools such as iGrafx or similar process-mapping platforms and Miro.

Technology Partnership: Work closely with technology and design partners, including multiple development teams, to translate business requirements and target-state designs into capabilities that can be effectively built and implemented.

Transformation Strategy & Roadmap: Support the broader transformation strategy and roadmap for Global Payments & Trade, contributing to business cases, objectives, key results, and measurable benefits.

Workflow Modernization: Support initiatives focused on modernizing business workflows, improving platform efficiency, and reducing unnecessary manual processes.

Controls & Risk: Partner with CAO, Risk, and Compliance teams to enhance controls, improve processes, and ensure transformation initiatives align with applicable business and regulatory requirements.

Testing & Implementation: Support user acceptance testing and validation of new capabilities, troubleshoot issues with business and technology partners, and assist with the global rollout of new functionality.

Change Management: Help stakeholders transition from current-state to future-state processes by supporting communication, adoption, and implementation activities.

Cross-Program Collaboration: Coordinate across multiple transformation workstreams and technology teams to ensure initiatives remain aligned and complementary to the broader program strategy.
Qualifications:

10+ years of experience in Business Architecture, Business Analysis, Process Design, Transformation, or a related discipline

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Computer Science, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree is preferred

Strong experience supporting business transformation and process redesign initiatives

Proven ability to develop and document current-state and target-state business processes or operating models
-
Experience gathering and translating business requirements into new workflows, technology capabilities, and actionable solutions

Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence across business and technology teams
-
Experience proactively identifying process inefficiencies, business problems, and opportunities for improvement

Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a focus on delivering practical business outcomes
-
Experience working in an Agile environment alongside technology and design partners, with familiarity working within JIRA-based project and development workflows

Experience in Payments, Treasury, FinTech, or financial services, including a strong understanding of payment processes and wires

Proficiency with iGrafx, Miro or similar process-mapping tools
Preferred Experience:

Experience working on large-scale enterprise transformation programs

Exposure to workflow modernization and workflow technology

Experience working across multiple technology teams and complex stakeholder environments

Understanding of AI and automation and how these technologies can improve workflows, platform efficiency, and operational processes

Strong understanding of the Payments/Treasury ecosystem and commercial user needs
