Kraken is developing advanced autonomous vessels and maritime technologies for defence, security and commercial applications. We're looking for a talented Electrical Design Engineer to join our growing engineering team and play a key role in designing the electrical systems that power and control our next-generation platforms.

What you'll be doing
- Designing electrical systems for autonomous vessels, including power distribution, propulsion control, sensor integration and communication networks.
- Working closely with software and control engineers to integrate electrical systems with autonomous navigation and control platforms.
- Ensuring designs comply with relevant maritime regulations, standards and classification society requirements.
- Supporting the testing, validation and verification of electrical systems.
- Collaborating with naval architects, mechanical engineers and software developers to deliver fully integrated vessel solutions.
- Producing technical documentation including design specifications, test plans and compliance reports.
What we're looking for
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
- At least 3 years' experience in electrical design within the marine industry.
- Proficiency with electrical design software such as AutoCAD.
- Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and marine electrical systems.
- Familiarity with marine electrical standards and regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Desirable experience
- Autonomous navigation and control systems.
- Integration of sensors such as LiDAR, radar and GPS.
- Knowledge of vessel communication networks including Ethernet, CAN Bus and NMEA 2000.
- Experience with electric or hybrid propulsion power management systems.
- Experience within autonomous, robotics or advanced technology environments.
