We have an exciting opportunity to join Cyber Security, within Digital and Information Services at the University of Oxford, and are currently seeking to recruit 2 x Cyber Security Delivery Support posts.
Strengthening cyber security across a complex university environment depends on effective coordination, sound judgement and strong relationships across organisational boundaries, and is key to ensuring that the University has robust, reliable and high-performing security functions to support the distinctive needs of those engaged in teaching, learning, research and administration.

Location: Oxford University Offices, 16 Wellington Square, Oxford OX1 2JH with hybrid working possible (minimum 2 days on site per week)
Salary: £39,424-£47,779 per annum
Contract: Full-time (37.5 hours per week), fixed-term to 31 July 2029, with the expectation of extension, subject to funding. Applications are also welcomed from candidates wishing to work part-time (minimum 30 hours/0.8 FTE) and/or flexibly.

Cyber Security, within Digital and Information Services, plays a central role in protecting the people, data and digital services on which the University’s research, teaching and wider academic mission depend. Working collaboratively across the collegiate University, the unit enables effective security through governance, assurance, policy, training, security operations and incident response. With a five-year Cyber Security Improvement Programme commencing in 2026, the team is strengthening the University’s security capabilities and supporting colleagues across Oxford to manage cyber risk effectively.

About the role
Working closely with the Cyber Security Delivery Partner, you will help translate the University’s cyber security priorities into coordinated and measurable delivery across an assigned academic division. You will bring together security, technology, governance and delivery considerations, applying professional judgement to identify challenges, progress priorities and support improvements to the division’s security posture.
You will coordinate cyber security initiatives, remediation and governance activities involving stakeholders across divisional and departmental teams and central Cyber Security. This will include managing defined workstreams, analysing delivery, risk and assurance information, supporting audits and assessments, facilitating governance and delivery meetings, and ensuring actions, dependencies and emerging issues are understood and progressed effectively.
Success in the role will depend on your ability to build trusted relationships and turn complex security requirements into practical approaches that work within a diverse organisational environment. You will have scope to improve delivery processes, identify proportionate solutions to implementation challenges and provide specialist advice that enables colleagues to embed security requirements into operational and change activities.
As this role supports ongoing strategic priorities, we are keen to appoint someone who can begin contributing within a relatively short timeframe and would welcome applications from candidates who are available to start promptly.
About you
We are looking for a professional with experience in cyber security, information security, technology, risk, compliance, or project/support roles, good organisational skills and the ability to track multiple actions and priorities, and an understanding of cyber security, risk, governance, or control concepts.
You will have the ability to work with different stakeholders and communicate clearly, with strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to follow through.
Relevant qualifications or certifications such as CISM, CISMP, Security+, ISO 27001 Foundation, or similar are desirable.
