Location: Oxford University Offices, 16 Wellington Square, Oxford OX1 2JH with hybrid working possible (minimum 2 days on site per week)
Salary: £56,623 - £65,336 per annum
Contract: Full-time (37.5 hours per week), fixed-term to 31 July 2029, with the expectation of extension, subject to funding. Applications are also welcomed from candidates wishing to work part-time (minimum 30 hours/0.8 FTE) and/or flexibly.

Cyber Security, within Digital and Information Services, plays a central role in protecting the people, information and digital services that enable the University’s academic mission. Working across the collegiate University, the team brings together security operations, governance, risk, compliance and assurance to strengthen Oxford’s resilience and support colleagues in managing cyber risk effectively. About the role
As Cyber Security Delivery Partner, you will provide strategic leadership for cyber security delivery across an assigned academic division, acting as the principal security adviser to divisional senior leadership. You will determine priorities, own the division’s multi-year cyber security roadmap and lead the implementation of the University’s cyber security strategy and improvement programme, balancing institutional requirements with the division’s operational needs and risk profile.
Working across divisional, central and third-party teams, you will bring together stakeholders to deliver measurable improvements in cyber security maturity and resilience. You will provide authoritative advice on material cyber risks, investment and remediation priorities; strengthen governance and assurance; oversee responses to significant security incidents; and lead delivery across organisational boundaries. You will also manage and develop assigned cyber security colleagues while providing direction to wider resources operating through matrix arrangements.
This is an opportunity to influence cyber security beyond a single division. Working closely with the Chief Information Security Officer and colleagues across the University, you will contribute to institutional policy, standards and strategic priorities, lead assigned cross-University initiatives and help develop scalable approaches that improve security across Oxford. Success will mean creating trusted relationships, enabling informed decisions about risk and delivering sustained improvements that support the University’s academic objectives.
About you
We’re looking for a professional with strong experience in cyber security, information security, risk, or assurance and experience partnering with business and technology teams in complex organisations.
You will have a good understanding of cyber risks, governance, controls, and compliance, ability to translate security requirements into practical actions and outcomes, and strong stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills.
Relevant qualifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CRISC are desirable.
