We are currently looking to hire our next great team member for the position of Yard Technician located in Charlottetown. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is dependable, safety-minded, hands-on, and takes pride in keeping equipment and work areas clean, organized, and ready for customers.
What You'll Do
As a Yard Technician, you will play a key role in supporting safe and efficient branch operations by keeping the yard organized, helping move equipment, and preparing clean, reliable, ready-to-use rental equipment for customers.
- Help load and unload internal truck drivers, outside haulers, and customers in a safe, efficient, and professional manner.
- Clean, maintain, fuel, and organize heavy equipment, construction equipment, and related machinery as it returns from rent or is prepared for rental.
- Inspect returned equipment for cleanliness, appearance, readiness, and customer presentation, and communicate any condition or safety concerns.
- Review orders and stage equipment for drivers to support timely deliveries, organized yard flow, and customer commitments.
- Record equipment hours and fuel status as required, and provide the information needed to support rental contract close-out.
- Maintain clean and organized yard areas, work areas, and equipment staging zones, including established 5S and organization standards.
- Participate in daily safety huddles, Gemba walks, PPE requirements, hazard identification, and other branch safety activities.
- Work independently and with drivers, counter staff, service, operations, and supervisors to support changing daily priorities.

Qualifications
Required
- Valid driver's licence with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform practical, hands-on yard duties.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Commitment to following safe work procedures, PPE expectations, and branch safety standards.
- Ability to work legally in Canada.
Preferred
- High school diploma, GED, or an equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
- Experience in a yard, warehouse, equipment rental, construction, driving, logistics, or operations environment.
- Experience cleaning, fueling, staging, organizing, or handling rental, construction, or heavy equipment.
- Forklift, aerial lift, telehandler, equipment operation, or related safety training.
