We’re looking for an experienced, safety-focused Night Shift Shop Technician / Mechanic to join our Edmonton team. This is an ideal role for someone who takes pride in quality repairs, strong troubleshooting, accurate documentation, and keeping equipment ready for customers.
What You’ll Do
As a Night Shift Shop Technician / Mechanic, you’ll inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair aerial lifts, material-handling equipment, small engines, and related rental fleet assets. Your work will help ensure equipment is safe, compliant, reliable, and rental-ready.
- Inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair aerial lifts, material-handling equipment, small engines, and related rental fleet assets.
- Perform mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and fuel-system diagnostics and repairs.
- Complete preventive maintenance, equipment inspections, and scheduled repairs.
- Complete work orders and accurately record labour, parts used, repair notes, and follow-up requirements.
- Recondition, replace, and install parts on equipment and related machinery.
- Identify wear, defects, hazards, safety concerns, and potential equipment failures.
- Communicate repair requirements, delays, and equipment concerns to the Service Manager or designate.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace by following shop standards, PPE requirements, and safe work practices.

Qualifications
Required
- Journeyman or Journeyperson certification in a related trade.
- Minimum three years of experience repairing equipment, vehicles, heavy equipment, forklifts, aerial lifts, small engines, or similar machinery.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to read equipment schematics, manufacturer information, warning labels, and service documentation.
- Valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Basic computer skills for completing work orders, repair notes, time entries, and parts documentation.
- Availability to work Monday to Thursday from 3:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m.
- Ability to work legally in Canada.
Preferred
- Red Seal certification.
- Experience in equipment rental, construction, industrial equipment, material handling, aerial lift, forklift, or heavy equipment service.
- Familiarity with OEM repair standards and preventive maintenance schedules.
- Experience using rental, service, inventory, or work order systems.
- Additional equipment, safety, forklift, aerial lift, or manufacturer training.
