ABOUT BOULEVARD EVENTS
Boulevard Events is a family-run business that's been catering events across London since 1988. Two generations in, we've built a reputation for great food, bold cocktails, and service that guests remember - and we're now taking over F&B operations at WeWork Waterloo, building the team from scratch. Come be part of that first chapter.
THE SITE
At WeWork Waterloo, Boulevard Events runs the full F&B offer: a 9th floor kitchen, a 16th floor bar, in-house events, and ongoing catering contracts for several resident companies. It's a varied, fast-paced site — no two days look the same.
Operating Pattern
- Kitchen (9th floor): Monday – Friday (breakfast & lunch)
- Guest Member Bar (16th floor): Tuesday–Friday, unless an event is on-site - the event then takes over bar service
- Events: held on the 16th floor and across other areas of the premises as required
THE ROLE
We're looking for a hands-on General Ops Manager to take full ownership of day-to-day operations across Kitchen, Bar, Events and Catering at WeWork Waterloo. You'll be the site lead - the person who makes sure every stream runs tight, every team member knows what's expected, and every client and guest gets a great experience. You'll work closely with Boulevard Events' Head Management on strategy, reporting and standards, while owning execution on the ground.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own overall site operations across Kitchen (9th floor), Bar (16th floor), Events and Catering
- Manage rotas, recruitment, staffing levels and day-to-day team leadership across FOH and BOH
- For events: work closely with the Boulevard Events team to follow up on and confirm function sheets ahead of every event
- Source and manage temporary/agency staff through staffing agencies to cover gaps and peak demand (when required)
- Oversee stock, ordering and supplier relationships site-wide
- Ensure compliance with licensing, food safety and H&S standards at all times
- Act as the main point of contact for WeWork site management and resident-company catering clients
- Work closely with the Boulevard Events team to confirm function sheets ahead of every event, and lead delivery on the day through to breakdown
- Report performance, issues and opportunities back to Boulevard Events Head Management
- Proactively identify and seek out opportunities to grow revenue, improve service and strengthen the site’s overall performance
- Recruit, train and develop the site team; hold the standard for service and food quality
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
- Function sheet accuracy and on-time confirmation for every event
- Rota fulfilment vs. agency spend kept within budget
- Cost control: stock management, GP% and wastage against target
- Reporting: timely, accurate submission of site performance reports (ops, financials, stock) to Boulevard Events Head Management
- Client and member satisfaction (WeWork site feedback, resident-company feedback)
- Zero food safety / H&S non-conformances on audit
- Staff retention and reduced reliance on agency staff over time
REQUIREMENTS
Essential
- Proven experience managing multi-stream F&B operations (kitchen, bar, events or catering)
- Strong people-management, rota and staffing-agency management experience
- Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)
- Comfortable owning budgets, stock and supplier relationships
Desirable
- Personal Licence holder
- Food Safety qualification (Level 2 or above)
- Experience in a corporate/workplace hospitality or members'-club environment
- Any additional relevant certification
WHAT'S ON OFFER
- Competitive salary, based on experience
- Permanent contract, 40-45 hrs/week
- Weekday-based role - real work-life balance, with weekends off (aside from the rare event)
- Training and courses provided
- The opportunity to shape a brand-new site from day one
Pay: From £44,000.00 per year
Work Location: In person
