ABOUT BOULEVARD EVENTS
Boulevard Events is a family-run business that's been catering events across London since 1988. Two generations in, we've built a reputation for great food, bold cocktails, and service that guests remember - and we're now taking over F&B operations at WeWork Waterloo, building the team from scratch. Come be part of that first chapter.
THE SITE
At WeWork Waterloo, Boulevard Events runs the full F&B offer: a 9th floor kitchen, a 16th floor bar, in-house events, and ongoing catering contracts for several resident companies. It's a varied, fast-paced site - no two days look the same.
Operating Pattern
- Kitchen (9th floor): Monday - Friday
- Guest Member Bar (16th floor): Tuesday - Friday, unless an event is on-site - the event then takes over bar service
- Events: held on the 16th floor and across other areas of the premises as required
THE ROLE
We're looking for a hands-on Head Chef to lead the kitchen at WeWork Waterloo. You'll own food operations on the 9th floor day to day - quality, safety, cost and team - and support Boulevard Events on food delivery for events on-site, working with the wider BE team as needed.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and manage the Kitchen Team day to day on the 9th floor
- Own full food operations: stock control, ordering, wastage and food cost management
- Ensure full compliance with Food Safety and H&S standards across the kitchen at all times
- Maintain a consistently high standard of food quality, presentation and menu execution
- Train, coach and develop the kitchen team; uphold cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout
- Support Boulevard Events with food delivery for on-site events, working with the wider BE team as required
- Manage kitchen rotas and staffing needs in coordination with the General Ops Manager
- Report kitchen performance, incidents, and stock/cost issues to the General Ops Manager
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
- Food cost / GP% and stock management against target
- Wastage against target
- Staff rota fulfilment and kitchen staffing management
- Zero food safety / H&S non-conformances on audit
- Team training completion and compliance
- Consistency and quality of food output
REQUIREMENTS
Essential
- Proven experience as a Head Chef (or senior Sous Chef ready to step up)
- Strong food safety and H&S knowledge, with all relevant certificates
- Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)
- Strong leadership and team-management skills
Desirable
- Experience in corporate/workplace hospitality, catering, or events kitchens
- Additional culinary or food safety certifications
WHAT'S ON OFFER
- Competitive salary, based on experience
- Permanent contract, 40-45 hrs/week
- Weekday-based role - real work-life balance, with weekends off (aside from the rare event)
- Training and courses provided
- The opportunity to shape a brand-new site from day one
Pay: From £40,000.00 per year
Work Location: In person
