About the Role
The Grade A Tactical Officer is responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient operation of security services at the allocated site.
The role is responsible for maintaining a high level of visibility, proactively identifying and responding to security threats, managing security incidents, supporting Control Room operations, conducting CCTV investigations and ensuring compliance with company procedures and site security requirements.
The Grade A Tactical Officer will report directly to the Contract Manager.
What You Will Bring
Qualifications

Matric / Grade 12 – certified copy required.

PSIRA Grade A registration.
-
Valid Code 08 Driver’s Licence with a clean driving record.
-
Firearm Competency – Handgun, Shotgun and Rifle.

Tactical Response qualification.
-
CCTV Certification.
-
Relevant Tactical Training Certificates.
-
Firefighting Certificate.
-
First Aid Certification – Level 3.
-
Armed Reaction Certificate.
-
CIT or CPO training and experience will be advantageous.
Experience, Knowledge & Skills
-
Previous supervisory experience within a security environment.
-
Experience in tactical security operations and incident response.
-
Experience in CCTV monitoring and investigations.
-
Experience in Control Room operations will be advantageous.
-
Knowledge and understanding of access control procedures.
-
Experience in compiling incident reports and preliminary investigation reports.
-
Computer proficiency.
-
Knowledge of security operational procedures and site requirements.
-
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Good reporting skills, both written and verbal.
-
Excellent firearm handling skills.
-
Strong situational awareness and ability to identify security threats.
-
Ability to respond effectively to incidents and emergencies.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Ability to follow instructions and take direction from senior management.

What You Will Be Doing

Comply with the Company’s Code of Conduct, policies, procedures and operational standards.

Project a positive, professional and forceful image of Excellerate Services at all times.

Maintain a high level of visibility and proactively identify and respond to security threats.

Respond promptly and effectively to security incidents and emergencies.
-
Monitor designated social media groups and respond as directed.
-
Interact professionally with clients, members of the public and SAPS as required.

Maintain high visibility within assigned areas of operation.
-
Interact with senior management and take direction as required.
-
Ensure that the primary functions and operational requirements of the Control Room are maintained at all times.
-
Multitask within the Control Room, including CCTV monitoring, answering telephone calls and issuing access reference numbers.
-
Capture accurate CHASE entries and ensure all relevant information is recorded.

Ensure that all required updates are accurately captured on Profit.
-
Follow and enforce all access control procedures.
-
Conduct CCTV investigations as required.
-
Compile preliminary CCTV investigation reports, including relevant photographs and supporting information.

Compile accurate incident reports on CHASE.
-
Identify and address non-conformance and enforce discipline where required, in accordance with company procedures.

Ensure security incidents and operational concerns are escalated to the appropriate level of management.

Maintain accurate records and ensure all required reports are completed within the prescribed timeframes.

Ensure that all security operations are conducted in accordance with site requirements, company procedures and applicable standards.
