A Snapshot of Your Day

As Team Lead Operational Excellence, you lead the team that keeps Plant Aalborg improving. You set the direction for how performance is managed, how flow and productivity are improved, and how WPMS is deployed and sustained across the manufacturing area, and you make sure your team has the priorities, capabilities, and support it needs to deliver it. You work closely with production management and the support functions, translating factory priorities into a clear plan for the team and balancing urgent performance support with the longer-term development of our ways of working. This is a role for someone who enjoys leading people as much as staying close to the shopfloor, and who is motivated by improvements that still hold a year later.

How You’ll Make an Impact

- Lead, coach, and develop a team of OE Business Partners, OE Specialists, and OE Program Managers: setting clear objectives, priorities, and expectations, and following up on delivery, performance, and behaviour.

- Own the deployment, governance, and sustainment of WPMS across the Aalborg manufacturing area, including assessments, maturity follow-up, and standardisation.

- Establish and sustain performance management standards, KPI routines, tier meeting structures, visual management, and escalation practices.

- Allocate your team's capacity across daily performance support, industrial engineering, capacity modelling, takt and manning proposals, and long-term Operational Excellence development.

- Drive flow improvement, bottleneck analysis, Value Stream Mapping, and Value Stream Design in close alignment with production leadership and factory priorities.

- Challenge the quality of analyses, recommendations, and implementation plans, and make sure improvement ideas become structured plans with clear ownership and measurable benefit.

What You Bring

- A background in engineering, manufacturing, or industrial engineering, combined with solid experience of Operational Excellence and Lean methodologies in a production environment.

- Demonstrated people leadership experience, with a track record of developing specialists and leading cross-functional improvement teams.

- A strong understanding of manufacturing processes, performance management, flow, and shopfloor execution: you are equally comfortable in a management forum and at the line.

- The ability to prioritise, balancing short-term production needs against long-term process maturity, productivity, and improvement capability.

- Structured problem-solving, facilitation, and change management skills, and the confidence to challenge analyses and decisions based on data, risk, and operational impact.

- Clear communication and stakeholder management, with coaching and feedback as a natural part of your leadership style. Professional English is required; Danish is an advantage.

- Experience with WPMS deployment, capacity modelling, takt and manning calculations, or factory performance management is considered an advantage.

About the Team

You will join Manufacturing Support Operational Excellence at Plant Aalborg and lead a 13-person team consisting of OE Business Partners, OE Specialists, and OE Program Managers. The OE Business Partners are dedicated to specific production areas and their performance, flow, capacity, and cost. The OE Specialists are deployed where the bottleneck is, providing process coaching or digital and analytical support. The OE Program Managers lead cross-functional topics such as VSM/VSD, WPMS, and standards. Together we deliver the strategic pillar Flow, Performance & Continuous Improvement, and we would rather solve the root cause than the symptom.
