Job overview:
As the Culture, Engagement and Experience Lead, you’ll be responsible for shaping and continuously improving AXA UK’s colleague experience. You’ll design and enhance employee engagement strategies, colleague communications, recognition programmes, and listening initiatives. Your goal is to strengthen engagement, reinforce the organisational culture, and improve key moments across the employee lifecycle. By creating meaningful initiatives, you will help foster a positive, connected, and motivated workforce, ensuring colleagues feel valued, heard, and aligned with AXA’s values and objectives.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead AXA UK’s employee engagement and colleague experience agenda and translate enterprise priorities into a clear strategy and roadmap.
- Define and improve key employee lifecycle experiences and “moments that matter”, using insight and feedback to identify priorities for improvement.
- Set colleague communications strategy and engagement priorities in partnership with Internal Communications and business stakeholders.
- Set the employee listening and engagement approach and ensure insight is translated into measurable improvement initiatives and action plans.
- Lead recognition programmes and initiatives that reinforce organisational culture and desired behaviours. Oversee internal engagement campaigns, communications planning and executive engagement reporting.
- Partner with senior leaders, Strategic People Partners and People Services to improve colleague experience and ensure initiatives land effectively.
- Lead and develop the Experience and Engagement capability, prioritising resources across communications and experience programmes.
Work arrangements:
At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least two days a week (40%) away from home, moving to three days a week (60%) from December 2026. Away from home means attending the office, visiting clients or attending industry events. We’re also happy to consider flexible working arrangements, which you can discuss with Talent Acquisition.
Your skills & experience:
- Significant experience in employee engagement, colleague experience, internal communications, culture or related People disciplines.
- Strong understanding of employee lifecycle experience, engagement, listening, recognition and communication strategy.
- Experience translating employee insight and business priorities into measurable programmes and improvement roadmaps.
- Strong strategic planning, stakeholder management and programme leadership capability in a complex organisation.
- Ability to influence senior leaders and work effectively across People, Communications, Reward, Learning and operational teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with confidence using data and insight to support executive decision-making.
