About iDC Logistics
iDC is a PE-backed third-party logistics company (warehousing, drayage, and freight forwarding) that runs on a stack of purchased enterprise systems: Blue Yonder (WMS), NetSuite (ERP), CargoWise (freight forwarding), Adena, ProfitTools (drayage), a managed EDI layer (Adena, ECOM, consolidating onto a single platform), billing, and IT service-management tooling.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the Smart IS partnership day to day. Be the single internal point of contact: run the transition and knowledge-transfer plan through steady-state acceptance, route intake to the vendor, hold Smart IS to the contracted SLAs and track service credits, run the recurring service reviews, manage the named FDE and PM relationship, and scope change requests against the locked rate card. Escalate patterns, not individual tickets. Commercial terms stay with the CTO.
- Coordinate the Blue Yonder program portfolio. The on-prem migration cutovers, the BY 2024 upgrade path, and the ongoing customization-reduction work: statements of work, milestones, sign-offs, and vendor deliverables.
- Be the front door for the COTS application portfolio. Initial intake, triage, and scoping for internal requests across CargoWise, ProfitTools, Adena, and the EDI platform, expanding as the portfolio consolidates. Route each request to the right owner (internal lead, vendor, or Smart IS) and drive it to done.
- Own the customer interface for systems delivery. Be the steady, trusted point of contact for customers on EDI and WMS onboarding, scope and sequence their requests, and manage expectations through delivery, using the standardized, layered onboarding playbooks and the UAT checklist as the test library for go-lives.
- Run delivery on the Project Brief process. Every project at every size opens with a one-to-two-page brief: requirements, scope and size off the sizing decision tree, and acceptance criteria agreed before build starts. Every brief names an accountable owner, the ops owner, and the account manager whenever a client is affected, and every scope change is logged with a name and a date. Break-fix and data corrections stay in the ticket queue.
- Triage intake and protect priorities. Decide what is an incident, a request, or a project, and route each accordingly. Bring leadership only the decisions that need them, and hold the line on what is not a priority. A clear “no, here is why” is a valid answer.
- Own change and release governance. A clean UAT-to-production path and access controls, with the discipline and audit trail to protect production from uncontrolled change, applied equally to vendor-delivered work.
- Track vendors and renewals. Track vendor deliverables, SOW milestones, and renewal timing so deadlines do not surprise the business. Commercial terms and budget sit with the CTO.
- Keep the technical bench technical. Absorb the coordination, requirement-gathering, and stakeholder communication that would otherwise pull the Blue Yonder lead and internal engineers away from build and enablement work.
- Go hands-on when it is the fastest path. Triage, validate, and work Blue Yonder issues and small changes directly when routing them would be slower, and use that same depth to QA vendor-delivered work before it reaches production.
What this role does not own: the security strategy, posture, and risk decisions (owned separately), the IT budget, strategic-vendor commercial terms (including the Smart IS agreement), and the technical builds themselves, which stay with the systems leads, the development team, and Smart IS.
Required Skills & Experience
- Blue Yonder WMS experience (required). Hands-on Blue Yonder in a multi-site warehousing or 3PL environment: configuration, the customization landscape, integrations, and support workflows. Deep enough to manage a Blue Yonder services partner credibly, challenge estimates, validate delivered work, and go hands-on when needed.
- Managed-services vendor management. You have run an SLA-backed vendor relationship end to end: transition and knowledge transfer, intake routing, SLA and credit tracking, service reviews, and escalation.
- Senior program and project management. Concurrent, multi-workstream delivery with structured rigor: briefs, sizing, acceptance criteria, and named accountability, not generic coordination.
- EDI onboarding experience. Trading-partner onboarding (for example 940, 943, 944, 856, and 846), retailer and label compliance, and the customer-facing side of it.
- Exceptional communication (a hard screen). You are in front of customers, executives, and a vendor’s delivery team constantly. You set and manage expectations without over-promising, and you build trust quickly in writing and in person.
- Cross-systems coordination without being the engineer. You gather requirements, write clear specs and briefs, sequence dependencies, and translate fluently between technical teams, vendors, the business, and customers.
- Outcome ownership and autonomy. You drive initiatives to done, make prioritization calls, and are comfortable as the most senior delivery person in the room, reporting directly to an executive with no PM peer.
- AI fluency (a required minimum bar). You use modern AI tools day to day as a researcher and working assistant, including drafting BRDs, specs, and UAT plans from raw requirements, and you verify output before you trust it, especially anything customer-facing or vendor-billed.
Strongly Preferred
- Exposure to the rest of our portfolio: NetSuite, CargoWise, ProfitTools, or a comparable TMS or ERP.
- Has stood up or operated a managed-services transition (contractor-to-vendor or vendor-to-vendor).
- Has built a standardized onboarding or implementation playbook from scratch.
- Experience in a fast-moving, PE-backed or owner-operated company.
Qualifications
-
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 5+ years of progressive Enterprise Applications experience
About the Environment
iDC runs on Blue Yonder (WMS), NetSuite (ERP), Azure, CargoWise, ProfitTools, a managed EDI layer, and a set of in-house and proprietary platforms, with work tracked in ClickUp, ServiceDesk Plus, and Jira. Blue Yonder support runs through the Smart IS partnership; internal engineering is focused on building, not ticket load. The technology organization is modernizing quickly and uses AI tooling throughout. The pace is deliberate but urgent: real, board-tracked deadlines, and a roadmap we set ourselves.
