About the Role
The Artisan assembles, integrates, aligns, tests, diagnoses and repairs opto-mechanical and electro-mechanical products, sub-systems and systems. The role takes technical responsibility for products throughout assembly, integration and acceptance testing to deliver fully functional, compliant and traceable systems within agreed production schedules and quality requirements.
Qualification and experience:
Recognised Trade Certificate in a relevant technical discipline.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
Experience in opto-mechanical, electro-mechanical or precision product assembly.
Experience in system integration, alignment, functional testing, diagnostics or repair will be advantageous.
Experience working with controlled manufacturing documentation and quality-acceptance processes will be advantageous.

Key responsibilities:
Kit and Component Preparation
Receive, inspect, clean and prepare production kits and components against work-order requirements to identify and resolve material deviations, resulting in complete and production-ready kits for controlled assembly.
Product Assembly and System Integration
Assemble and integrate opto-mechanical and electro-mechanical components and sub-systems according to approved manufacturing documentation to achieve specified workmanship and system requirements, resulting in correctly built and fully integrated products.
Alignment, Testing and Product Acceptance
Perform alignment, calibration, functional testing and prescribed acceptance-test procedures throughout the integration process to verify product performance against technical specifications, resulting in compliant systems ready for Quality Control acceptance.
System Diagnostics, Maintenance and Repair
Diagnose, maintain and repair products and systems using approved technical procedures and test equipment to identify and rectify faults, resulting in restored system functionality and verified product performance.
Product Accountability and Technical Documentation
Coordinate assigned products through integration and acceptance while completing work orders, build history documents and test records and providing technical feedback to relevant stakeholders to maintain control and traceability, resulting in accurate product records and successful production handover.
