About the role

Heads Up Technologies is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to support manufacturing operations by resolving electromechanical product issues, improving product cost and manufacturability, and managing component lifecycle risks. This highly collaborative role focuses on sustaining engineering, root cause investigation, reliability, and continuous improvement across production processes and products.

What you'll do

Manufacturing Support and Issue Resolution: Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for electromechanical product failures observed in production and the field.

Manufacturing Support and Issue Resolution: Provide hands on troubleshooting of electrical systems, printed circuit board assemblies, and integrated electromechanical assemblies.

Manufacturing Support and Issue Resolution: Support production teams in resolving technical issues to minimize downtime and maintain delivery commitments.

Manufacturing Support and Issue Resolution: Partner with quality and manufacturing teams to drive containment and corrective and preventive actions.

Quality and Reliability Improvement: Analyze failure trends and implement design or process improvements that enhance product reliability.

Quality and Reliability Improvement: Support failure analysis activities, including test development, data collection, and reporting.

Quality and Reliability Improvement: Work closely with design engineering to implement design changes that improve manufacturability and robustness.

Cost Reduction Initiatives: Identify and execute cost reduction opportunities through component changes, design optimization, and process improvements.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering.

-
Five to ten years of electrical engineering experience focused on printed circuit board assemblies and original equipment manufacturer product manufacturing and testing.

Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills for electrical and electromechanical systems.

-
Experience using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, power supplies, and signal generators.

-
Ability to read and interpret schematics, printed circuit board layouts, and technical drawings.

-
Familiarity with failure analysis techniques and reliability engineering principles.

-
Experience with component selection, qualification, and obsolescence management.

-
Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, including printed circuit board assembly and testing.

-
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross functional teams to meet product requirements.

-
Familiarity with applicable industry standards and regulations, including UL, CE, and RoHS.

Preferred Qualifications

-
Experience with high reliability product designs in industries such as automotive, aerospace, or medical devices.

-
Familiarity with FPGA and/or embedded systems.

-
Six Sigma certification or training in a comparable process improvement methodology.
