We are looking for a UAV Design Engineer to join our engineering team and support the design, development, prototyping, and production of UAV/drone components and systems.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop UAV components, structures, assemblies, and payload integration systems using CAD software.
Create 3D models, engineering drawings, BOMs, and manufacturing documentation.
Design components considering weight, strength, aerodynamics, manufacturability, and cost.
Develop prototypes using 3D printing, CNC, composites, and other manufacturing processes.
Apply Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM) for optimized UAV components.
Perform basic structural/FEA analysis and design optimization.
Support prototype assembly, testing, validation, and design improvements.
Conduct 3D scanning and reverse engineering of existing components when required.
Work closely with production, electronics, avionics, and manufacturing teams.
Coordinate with suppliers and support technical discussions with customers.
Maintain CAD data, design revisions, technical specifications, and engineering documentation.
Required Skills & Experience
Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
Experience in UAV/drone mechanical design and development.
Strong knowledge of SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, Fusion 360, or similar CAD software.
Knowledge of 3D printing, DfAM, CNC, composites, and lightweight materials.
Understanding of UAV structures, aerodynamics, propulsion, batteries, and payload integration.
Experience with prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting.
Knowledge of FEA and engineering drawings/GD&T is an advantage.
Strong problem-solving and hands-on engineering skills.
Preferred
Experience with HP MJF, FDM, SLA, 3D scanning, and reverse engineering will be an added advantage.
