Position Summary
We are looking for a hands-on Logistics and Supply Chain Assistant Manager to oversee daily warehouse operations, with a primary focus on shipping, receiving, inventory organization and tracking, and leading the floor team so processes are followed consistently.
This role is on the warehouse floor—not a desk-only position. You will supervise daily inbound and outbound activity, keep inventory accurate and organized, coach team members, and keep management informed so operations run smoothly.
This role oversees daily inbound and outbound operations: unloading containers of boxes, parts, and kits; keeping inventory organized and traceable through assembly; and loading finished vehicles (plus some detached parts) using methods that protect the product in transit.
Shipping or logistics experience is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Receiving:
- Oversee unloading of inbound containers holding boxed kits, components, and parts
- Direct the team on safe container breakdown, staging, and inspection of incoming product
- Verify receipts against packing lists / purchase orders and document shortages, damage, or mis-ships
- Ensure kits and parts are identified, labeled, and put away in the correct locations so assembly can pull what it needs
- Keep the dock and receiving area organized for container flow and next-day work
Inventory organization and tracking:
- Maintain accurate inventory of crates and parts from receiving through assembly to shipment
- Organize storage so kits and parts are easy to locate, count, and issue to the assembly process
- Track inventory movement as kits are consumed and vehicles are completed
- Lead cycle counts, investigate variances, and correct records
- Protect high-value EV components through proper handling, location control, and documentation
Assembly support and material flow:
- Coordinate with assembly so the right kits and parts are available when needed
- Oversee staging of kits and components for the production line
- Track incomplete kits, missing parts, and hold items so they do not stall assembly or shipping
- Communicate shortages, quality issues, and delays to management promptly
Shipping:
- Oversee loading of fully assembled vehicles for dealer shipment
- Ensure loading methods, tie-down, bracing, and handling techniques minimize transport damage
- Supervise shipment of detached parts that travel with or separately from the vehicle
- Confirm outgoing paperwork, vehicle/part identification, and load condition before departure
- Coordinate carrier pickup windows and resolve shipping exceptions (damage risk, incomplete loads, delays)
Team leadership and process compliance:
- Lead warehouse team members on receiving, put-away, staging, inventory, and loading
- Train staff on container unloading, kit/part handling, inventory transactions, and vehicle-loading standards
- Enforce process so work is done the same way every time—not by habit or shortcut
- Address performance and safety issues on the floor in real time
- Step in operationally when volume or issues require it
Daily operations and communication:
- Oversee the day’s inbound containers, inventory status, assembly support, and outbound vehicle loads
- Give management a clear picture of what arrived, what is short, what is ready to ship, and what is at risk
- Escalate problems early with facts and a recommended action
- Support improvements to receiving layout, kit tracking, and vehicle-loading process
- Maintain a safe, clean, organized warehouse around containers, parts, and finished vehicles
Qualifications
**Required**
- Able and willing to work in a warehouse environment around containers, boxed kits, parts, and assembled vehicles
- Ability to lead a team and hold people to process
- Strong attention to detail on counts, kit completeness, inventory records, and load condition
- Clear communication with floor staff and management
- Comfortable with inventory or warehouse systems and basic computer tools
- Ability to manage a mix of inbound container work and outbound vehicle loading in the same day
**Preferred**
- Shipping, receiving, warehouse, or logistics experience
- Experience with container unloading, kit/parts receiving, or automotive/vehicle logistics
- Prior lead or supervisory experience in a warehouse
- Familiarity with WMS/ERP or inventory tracking systems
- Experience loading vehicles, crates, or high-value freight in a way that reduces transit damage
- Forklift / material-handling equipment experience
Work Environment
This is a warehouse-floor role. Work includes container unloading, handling boxed kits and parts, organizing inventory around an assembly process, and loading finished electric vehicles plus some detached parts. The person in this role must be comfortable in that environment and able to set the standard for how product is received, stored, and shipped.
What success looks like
- Containers are unloaded, checked in, and put away accurately
- Kits and parts are organized and traceable for assembly
- Inventory records match what is on the floor
- Finished vehicles are loaded with proper technique to reduce transport damage
- Detached parts ship complete and accounted for
- The team follows process, and management is not surprised by shortages, delays, or loading issues
