Role Title: Palantir Data Engineer

Summary of the role:

We are looking for a highly skilled Palantir Data Engineer to join our growing Insurance practice. This role is ideal for a data engineering professional with strong experience in modern cloud-based data platforms and hands-on expertise with Palantir Foundry and AIP.

You will play a key role in designing, developing, and optimizing scalable data solutions, enabling advanced analytics, AI/ML initiatives, and business-critical decision-making. Working alongside data architects, product teams, and business stakeholders, you will help deliver enterprise-grade data products that drive transformation across the insurance sector.

As part of your duties, you will be responsible for:

- Design, build, and maintain scalable, high-performance data pipelines and data platforms.

- Develop and manage data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration workflows within Palantir Foundry.

- Create and optimize Foundry datasets, pipelines, and applications to support analytics and AI-driven outcomes.

- Develop interactive business applications using Foundry Workshop, Slate, and custom front-end solutions.

- Build robust applications and integrations using TypeScript, Python, and PySpark.

- Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable data solutions.

- Integrate AI/ML capabilities into data workflows and support the deployment of intelligent applications using Foundry AIP.

- Implement best practices for data quality, governance, security, and performance optimization.

- Contribute to CI/CD processes, DevOps practices, and cloud-native deployments.

- Work within Agile delivery teams to successfully deliver complex data engineering initiatives.

Qualifications and experience we consider to be essential for the role:

- 3-7 years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Platforms, or Big Data environments.

- 2+ years of hands-on experience with Palantir Foundry, including:

- Data ingestion and integration

- Pipeline Builder

- Data transformations

- Foundry datasets

- Foundry applications and Workshop

- Strong programming expertise in:

- Python

- PySpark

- TypeScript / JavaScript

- Experience building custom applications and user-facing solutions within Foundry.

- Strong understanding of distributed systems and microservices architecture.

- Experience with AWS services such as S3, Glue, Athena, Lambda, Redshift, Textract, and AI/ML services.

- Experience working with modern data technologies, including Snowflake.

- Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and Kubernetes.

- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.

- Experience working within Agile delivery frameworks.

Preferred Qualifications

- Hands-on experience with Palantir AIP and AI-enabled Foundry applications.

- Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.

- Palantir Foundry certification or significant project delivery experience.

- Previous experience within the Insurance industry.

- Experience supporting enterprise-scale digital transformation initiatives.

Essential Requirements

- 3+ years of professional Data Engineering experience.

- 2+ years of commercial experience working with Palantir Foundry.

- 2+ years of experience developing applications using TypeScript.

- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Python and data engineering frameworks.

- Proven experience designing and delivering production-grade data solutions in cloud environments.
