Key Responsibilities
- Create and modify 3D models and detailed technical drawings based on engineering designs, sketches, specifications, and site measurements.
- Prepare fabrication, shop, assembly, installation, and construction drawings.
- Develop accurate 3D models of structural, mechanical, architectural, or engineered components as required.
- Produce detailed 2D drawings from 3D models, including dimensions, annotations, sections, elevations, and material specifications.
- Interpret engineering drawings, plans, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Ensure drawings and models comply with project specifications, relevant Australian standards, and company drafting procedures.
- Revise drawings and models based on feedback from engineers, clients, fabricators, and project managers.
- Conduct drawing and model checks to identify dimensional, design, and coordination errors before submission.
- Maintain accurate drawing registers, revisions, file structures, and project documentation.
- Coordinate drawings and models with other disciplines to minimise clashes and inconsistencies.
- Assist engineers and project teams with design development, detailing, and documentation.
- Support the preparation of documentation required for fabrication, manufacturing, installation, and site works.
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Communicate effectively with the Australian-based engineering and project team through online platforms.
Required Skills & Experience
- 2–5+ years of experience in 3D modelling, drafting, engineering drafting, or a similar role.
- Proven experience producing technical and fabrication drawings.
- Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings, plans, specifications, and measurements.
- Experience working with 3D modelling and CAD software, preferably:
- AutoCAD
- SolidWorks
- Inventor
- Revit
- Tekla Structures
- or other relevant modelling/drafting platforms
- Strong understanding of engineering drafting principles, dimensions, tolerances, materials, and construction/fabrication methods.
- Experience working with Australian projects, standards, or clients is highly desirable.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong spatial and technical understanding.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Good written and verbal English communication skills.
- Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines.

Education
- Diploma, Advanced Diploma, or Bachelor’s degree in Drafting, Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil/Structural Engineering, Architecture, or a related field is preferred.
- Relevant professional drafting experience may be considered in lieu of formal qualifications.
