The Information Technology Support Specialist provides intermediate-level administrative and technical support for MFCP’s day-to-day IT operations. This role troubleshoots hardware, software, account, and connectivity issues; coordinates and tracks support requests; supports user onboarding and equipment setup; and helps ensure timely, effective resolution of routine technology needs. The position operates with general supervision, applies established procedures and sound judgment to resolve a variety of issues, and escalates non-routine or more complex matters as needed.
Salary: $24 - $30 Hourly | DOE
Primary Duties:
- Provide first-line support for hardware, software, systems access, and basic network connectivity issues for internal users.
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve routine to moderately complex technology issues using established procedures, research, and diagnostic tools.
- Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, standard applications, and user accounts.
- Document support requests, resolutions, equipment activity, and recurring issues in help desk or tracking systems; identify trends and recommend processes or system improvements.
- Communicate status updates to users, follow up after issue resolution, and deliver customer-focused support with timely response and closure.
- Support onboarding activities for new users, including workstation setup, account provisioning, and basic systems orientation.
- Monitor routine system performance issues, support security-related tasks such as standard updates and backups, and coordinate referrals or escalation to specialized technical resources when needed.
- Collaborate with IT team members on patches, upgrades, deployments, inventory management, and continuous improvement of support processes.

Education and Work Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in IT support, help desk, service desk, or other technical support roles.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and common help desk, remote support, and ticketing tools.
- Working knowledge of Windows environments, standard business applications, device setup, and basic networking concepts.
- Strong organizational, time management, and documentation skills with the ability to prioritize multiple requests.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with a customer service orientation and the ability to work across departments.
- Ability to work independently within established guidelines, exercise sound judgment on routine issues, and escalate non-routine matters appropriately.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
The essential functions of this position will require the employee to perform the following physical activities:
- Frequent use of standard office equipment.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
- Combination of sitting, standing, walking, and occasional bending or reaching.
- Primarily office-based, temperature-controlled environment with moderate noise.
- Up to 10% of travel may be required by air or automobile.
- Regular and reliable attendance is required.
