Our asset portfolio represents over a century of disciplined investment experience and foresight. With us, you will design investment solutions and uncover opportunities that drive returns and long-term stability in collaboration with a team of industry leaders. Join us and leave a lasting impact.

The Opportunity

This position within Pension & Investment Manager Oversight will be responsible for analysis, oversight and evaluation of MetLife’s Separate Account and Benefit Plans investment managers including preparing and presenting manager proposals for approval to respective governance committees and stakeholders.

While this position is targeted at the Associate level, candidates with less experience who demonstrate strong potential may be considered for a lower-level Sr. Analyst or Analyst position.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist in the oversight of MetLife’s Separate Account and Benefit Plans investment managers, including supporting unit operations and reporting.

- Partner with senior management to develop, formalize, and refine workstreams, technical processes, operating policies, procedures, and protocols.

- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Compliance, Risk, Legal, and Insurance teams, as well as external partners such as asset managers, data and systems providers.

- Review and analyze portfolio performance, including performance relative to benchmarks and peers, risk-adjusted returns, regime-specific performance, and attribution by style, market capitalization, region, sector, and factor.

- Support the investment manager due diligence process through quantitative analysis of performance, risk, style, factor and characteristic, as well as qualitative assessment of management, organization, personnel, and culture.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or another quantitative or business-related field.

- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience (or 0-3 years for Sr. Analyst or Analyst role), including experience in pension plans, endowments, foundations, sovereign wealth funds, investment consulting, private wealth, insurance sub-advisory, or asset management.

- Strong quantitative, analytical, and technical skills, with the ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve data anomalies or gaps.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, investment analytics platforms such as Aladdin, Bloomberg, BondEdge, eVestment, or Morningstar.

- Practical experience using generative AI tools, such as Microsoft Copilot, Claude, and large language models to summarize complex data sets and develop reports.

Preferred Qualifications

- Knowledge of U.S. insurance products, such as BOLI and Stable Value, non-U.S. insurance products, such as unit-linked insurance, and benefit plan accounting concepts such as PBO, APBO, service cost, and interest cost.

- Fixed income investment experience.

- CFA designation, or progress towards the designation.

Location Expectation: This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of 3 days per week in office.

The expected salary range for this position is $116,900 - $136,000. This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
